So Hard To Make Things Out...
OK, so I've been weird and over reacting to stuff. My Dr. told me that apparently I will have about another week of this for various reasons... (add PMS... bleah)... I hope that writing some personal junk on here isn't making people uncomfortable... Anyhoo... I probably have been sounding really ungrateful and all, with all my puter bitching... The truth is, I am grateful not to have cancer, but it almost feels like they told me it WAS malignant... Delayed stress or something to that effect.
I've been up and down, but pretty down... Sorry, because my blog posts get really whiny and I end up not posting about the interesting things. My blog is a dull dull read.
BTW... my mom is over and she calls Zeros a panther! Like he's THAT big?! NOT! (But he isn't little!)
Mr. Hype will reconfigure my Nortons when he gets back tomorrow, and hopefully this weekend will install XT. I hope XT is compatible w/the Nortons I bought yesterday... :-/
I need cheering up, and I can't let the bad boyz up 'cause they kept getting in trouble, and my basement is full of turpentine and enamel fumes... (another story), so I can't spend much time working down there either... *sorbs* Oooh I said "sorbs" instead of "sobs". YOU PEOPLE ARE CORRUPTING MY LINGUISTICNESSAGE!!

I Wanna Be A Big Fat Puter Geek!!!
OK, the geists have taken over my puter... I think I may have briefly mentioned that? I have to have Mr. Hype deal w/my new version of Nortons which is too much if you ask me...
Other things from the days before Evil Monday:
Went shopping... Got cool stuff! $60 off on a black trench coat! I NEVER find sales! Wheeeee!!! They only had ONE of the belt that I wanted... NO price on it, and they couldn't look it up, so they said "Well, it's a Calvin and most of them are $30," (mind you this was the only one in this style), "so we'll charge you $30." I told them nuh uhhh... I mean really, what if it was $29.50 or something... So I was mad. They should have just given it to me for free for causing me mental anguish. Got some jeans for Mr. Hype, and some SUPER COMFY Dearfoam slippers. I've been looking for decent slippers forever, and I can never find any. My old fav pair has huge holes all over, so I was happy to find these. However, they only came in WHITE!!! OH YEAH!!! EASY TO KEEP CLEAN WHITE! >-(
Also, I was talking to our neighbor on Monday and get this... WE LIVE ON SWAMPLAND! :-o The yard has already been filled and supposedly lifted, but it keeps sinking. I swear when we get a different house I'm checking out topography and geology before we buy! GRRR! That lying sack of shit real estate goon who sold us this house ought to be *insert uncomfortable experience here*.
And the countdown begins: FOUR DAYS UNTIL I QUIT SMOKING!!! I stop on Sunday. I plan to walk a lot so I don't start eating in place of smoking. Then I won't have those lovely black lungs Flemmy's poking at in his Cadaver Lab...
BTW.. I hit the "help" button on here for some "help"... Nothing happened...

Evil Computers
I had some fun stuff to blog about yesterday, however, I spent 7.5-8 hrs on the phone trying to get my puter de-glitched. (Not my puter and not my fault, btw.) I lost all the content to every e-mail I ever had, so I kept getting blank e-mails. Then I had to take out Nortons and eventually buy a new version (that I don't like), which started throwing away my e-mails. I mean where I can't even RETRIEVE them! So Byrds, I didn't get your e-mail.
I also don't understand why that if all the pics on my blog used to show up, and they don't now, the code is wrong. I also can't seem to get it fixed.
I deplore this new split screen we have to use in blogger now. Lovely. You can't even view your blog on a different page... only a tiny portion at a time. And you can't read it before publishing. Well, kind of... you can "post" and then "publish" but there isn't anywhere to really check things out.
It seems some of you thought I was referring to the appearance of my blog when I was complaining, and that is NOT the case. It's this stupid page I'm writing in right now...

I DON'T HAVE CANCER! (or Get Born Again...)
!!!! My God what an awful 2 weeks. Here's the short version, (which is probably long by anyone else's standards! :P ) ... For the past 2 weeks, I have been seeing radiologists, surgeons, having biopsies, etc, as it looked that I had cancer in both breasts, and the outlook wasn't too good from the documentation I received at the beginning. I'm sure any woman can identify w/the terror of possibly having to have a double mastectomy. Terrifying. I had to sit and watch the time go by until yesterday afternoon when I saw the surgeon w/the biopsy results and they came back benign. When he told me I just started sobbing from the relief of it all, and I got home and was so emotionally wiped out I fell asleep at 5:30pm, and that's why I'm up so early now. I'm still feeling weird about it somehow... Relieved and still wiped out. (Plus sore from the biopsies.) My advisor at school told me to drop my class as I wouldn't have been able to continue if the results were malignant, and the drop date was last Friday. This is the reason my prof was so cool about letting me pick up where I left off when I start the class again, since this was something completely out of my control. (It's not like I dropped because it was boring or something and she knew that. Kinda sucks 'cause I wasn't doing too badly and there goes the money you know?) But going through 2 weeks of not knowing if you might die certainly makes one reorganize their priorities. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. It's true. That's the way my life has been. And despite all the adversity, I am blessed w/a wonderful family and supportive friends and am grateful for them and all the other things I've taken for granted....

Here I Am In My Bucket Today... In The Middle...
"...And the weather is finally gettin' warm..." Listening to Frank Black and the Catholics "Big Red"... (The previous are lyrics as well as the title...) But it IS sort of getting warm. It might get up to around 60 today! WOOHOO!!!! uh oh... That FB song that I posted all those lyrics as titles a long time ago, "Blast Off", just came on... "I'm wearing Beckett's pants!" Yikes! That sticks in the head! I feel like just posting song lyrics for pages and pages right now... but I won't. :D
I believe we have a little bitty birdy corpsy in our chimney. I heard all this chirping in the basement and followed the sound to the bricks around the chimney that goes from the furnace, (not fireplace). The thing was chirping like crazy. Then a few minutes later... nothing. I was telling my dad about it, and he said "The bird probably bit it." Ewww... Dead bird walled in concrete blocks basically. Entombed. So Poe-ish... I don't know how it got in because we have a screen over our chimney on the roof. Oh well. RIP little birdy... Just a note: NEITHER of my brilliant cats even noticed that there was a bird chirping loudly nearby...
When I was talking to my dad yesterday, he said he saw a pic of an eagle's nest WAY WAY up in a tree, and there was a bear hibernating in it! (I think it wasn't far from where my dad lives.) I would have loved to have seen that!
OOhhh... another long-winded quiz! :P
You enter the door .You see the higher being and listen to what it says to you:
I have already been waiting for you.You ask yourself why, dont you? Let me explain:
You should know that I am not the highest being I am just one of the nine servants. And I am sent to make you think about something but I am not here to answer your questions. I can not tell you too much but I will come again. So listen what I have to say!
I am the higher being of good power. I was sent up from above and want to tell you that we thank you and love you. You are representing us on earth and you are a very dutiful and good person. You will get what you deserve and that is a lot. Remember that we are always there for you and you can always pray to us. Something good will happen to you in the next time. Sure! And remember not to judge others they will be judged
! Thus spoke the higher being of wisdom and now wake up

Dragons Again...
I ADORE dragons. (I better, since I have a 6 1/2" tat of a dragon on my lower leg!) My zodiac sign, aside from Leo is also the dragon. Born the Year of the Dragon. Wood dragon to be precise. So anyhoo I saw this quiz on Nessa's blog, and sure enough I came up dragon! :D
You're a dragon! You're strong and powerful, but sometimes forget about the little people... mainly because you stepped on them. You have very strong opinions and aren't afraid to voice them, though this can lead people to believe you're stubborn.

So I Didn't Tank That Badly????
I mentioned in an earlier post that I'd post my grade for my first exam. I still didn't get it back in the mail, so I called my prof, and she said I got a 91, which is an A/B. She also said I got all the points on one essay, and all but 2 on the other... Umm... I thought those essays were heinously bad! Poorly written and such. I guess I'm kind of surprised. (Pleasantly though!) I guess it's not too bad for my first exam in 16 years. Oh well.
She also told me that since I had to drop the class, that when I took it again, she'd keep the grade from the first exam and I could just start from where I left off! How cool is that!?!? :D So I don't have to do that junk all over again. And I'll start with exam #2! Yayyyy!!!
Other than that? Tick... tick... tick... tick...

Sitting On The Angry Chair...
Yeah, I probably used that title already... I forgot what I have and haven't used. It reminds me that the Alice in Chains CD I ordered is LATE! >-(
Friday night was great because I finally got to see the Jaklynator! She's sooooo cute! We brought her two of those foil type balloons. She LOVES balloons! One was a red heart and the other had Winnie the Pooh on it and said "Happy Birthday" in Spanish. It's not her birthday or anything, it was just cute, and she can't read English much less Spanish. :P I took lots of pics, but most didn't turn out. My camera flash seems to not work too well. It flashes, but the pics are still dark. A really cute one of Mr. Hype and Jakl w/her balloons had red-eye on it, and when I tried to fix it, her lips and eyes turned out solid black and she looked like Marylin Manson! *cries* Luckily I saved it in the camera and d/l'ed it again and left it w/the red-eye. The one pic I thought would turn out great was a close up of her face, but at the last millisecond, she shoved her Pooh balloon in front of her face, so I have a perfect pic of Winnie the Pooh close up. :P
I can't remember what I did Saturday. Oh... slept a lot I think... And Mr. Hype and I played our geeky card game and I kicked his ass all over the place. :D We finally got the Christmas lights down too! So we don't look like the neighborhood slackers anymore. There still are some people w/theirs up...
Sunday we went to the Mucky Duck with Mr. Hype's parents and I got the seafood linguine. I only wish there was more seafood in it. I have lots of leftovers, but it's all noodles. :-/
Oooh I almost forgot... We gave up beef probably around Christmas (the mad cow thing, and whatnot, even tho the chances are miniscule), so my sister and bro-in-law brought a couple pounds of organic ground beef for us. They buy part of an organic cow each year, so no worries about sick animals, or BSD. We had burgers Saturday night for the first time in a long time! They were great! Hopefully we're going to get some organic beef this year when they do. That will be nice. They also brought us a box of truffles... (Needless to say, gone by Sat. morning... Hey! It was a small box!)
Also, Bluey broke her hand. :-( Just a shoutout (even tho she doesn't read this!): Hope all is well and get better soon!
Well, I gotta go and fax my confirmation for my dropped class. I need to bring the lecture tapes back as well. Yiiiipppeeee... Another trip to GB in 2 hrs. Oh boy. I can hardly contain myself. The excitement is overwhelming me. *said in the voice of Ben Stein*

...Ciao For Now...
Take the longest day...
Throw it all away...
I can't stand it but I can't do anything...
OK, so my posts have been getting a bit cryptic. Hopefully I can explain in a week and hopefully everything will be just fine. I'm going thru a bit of hell right now. I'm not being melodramatic here. I don't want people feeling sorry for me, because that is NOT what I'm about, so I won't get into the details. I am sort of stunned and a lot of other things. So if I see any of you on line and I'm moody, please don't take it personally. I just don't want to say more about it right now until I have something definitive to post about it. So hopefully Thursday night, I'll have something good to post?
*later*
Well, I'll probably be posting random weirdness up thru Thursday anyhoo, 'cause I just can't shut up. :P A Clint Black song I really like popped into my head out of nowhere, (which is better than the Quiznos rodent song popping into my head...) And yes, I do love my Clint Black Greatest Hits (Black Album) CD!
This killin' time... Is killin' me...
Drinking myself blind... Thinkin' I won't see...
That if I cross that line... And they bury me...
I just might find I'll be killin' time for eternity...

What It Is... Is What It Is...
This title is actually English for the French thang up on top... (Just an FYI)...
I'm finally seeing the Jaklynator tonight! She'll be in GB w/my sis and bro-in-law at my mom's, so we're going up there this aft/eve. for a while. I'm excited! I haven't seen her since December! Driving to GB today. That's every day this week. Gotta go Monday and Thursday next week too. I wish I knew how to fly a small plane and had one. :-/
I had to drop my class unfortunately. I may explain about it later. I didn't want to, but at this point had no choice. I will still post my grade from my exam, (even if it's a sucky one!)... I hate all that money going down the drain though. >-( I guess I'll start back in the fall if all works out. I think the class available is stats tho. Bleah...
I guess they got my Bocci (Bocce?) Ball team together already. I'm just waiting for the paperwork to get here, etc. Hopefully that will all work out smoothly.
Below are some quizzes I took for no reason whatsoever.
I may not be blogging for a while... Depending on fate I guess... :-)

The title is a phrase that is associated w/a particular anime show of the late 90's, but it's odd that I said that all through college, (and most of my life for that matter), so maybe I originated it. *smiles* But it's true and probably the best way to look at life...

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day... Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat all day drinking beer...
My little proverb above... :D I got these goofy axiom thangs in an e-mail a while back and I like using them for titles. I think they're humorous anyway.
Today... Back to GB... third day in a row. Appointments and such. I wish it would stop snowing though. When I drive the highway between here and GB, it's usually dull, but a couple interesting things this week. Monday on my way back, (southbound), I looked to the northbound lanes (it's a divided hwy), and there was some sort of truck BURNT TO A CRISP. I mean BLACK. The windows must have blown out of it from the fire, and it must have happened shortly before I went by, as there was an ambulance and a ton of cops and traffic was backed up for miles behind it. I often wonder how something like that happens. I have seen a LOT of burning cars... Always somewhere between GB and Chicago. Last year we were going to my sister's for the 4th of July weekend, and as we were hitting the Chicago area, there was a car on the side of the northbound lanes, just completely engulfed in flames. And there was this family, obviously on their way out of town for the 4th, standing watching their car fry. Vacation ruined I assume... My first car started on fire actually, now that I think about it. The engine started on fire. I still don't know how that happened. That's a longer story, so I won't post it. :P Yesterday on my way back I slowed down a bit because I saw 2 cop cars pulled to the side of the road. When I drove by, I saw a car in front of it, w/the trunk open and they had some dude handcuffed face down on the concrete... BUSTED! hahaha! (It looked like one of the cops had his foot on the guy's back too... hahaha again!) Musta had dope...
I have done no homework since my exam last Thursday for various reasons, partly because of all this driving back and forth. The last thing I want to do after driving two hours is listen to 2 hrs. of lecture on the Beatles, which is next. Yippee Skippee...
A rock genre quiz! (It's almost like doing homework?)

It Is Said That If You Line Up All The Cars In The World End To End, Someone Would Be Stupid Enough To Try And Pass Them...
OK, so that title has nothing to do w/my post, however it's true, ne? I didn't get any homework done yesterday... *sheepish look* I think from now on, I won't post about how I'm GOING to do my homework, but will post AFTER I actually do some... False advertising you know...
It's been colder outside, but the snow is gone and our lake has finally receded. (I'm surprised I haven't found any dead fish.) :-o I've still been really tired, so I slept when I was going to study yesterday. Mr. Hype and I played a few rounds of our geeky card game, and I kicked his ass! Woohoo!!! I won every game! It was fun... (For me! :P )
As I mentioned on the taggie, I very stupidly put Dawn liquid in the dishwasher because we were out of Cascade. On the first cycle it started foaming out the top of the sink. :-/ I drained it and ran a ton of rinse cycles thru it, then ran the wash cycle, and rinsed it a bunch more times. At the very LEAST there were 8 rinse cycles. Mr. Hype stopped and picked up Cascade on the way back from work, so after all of that, we ran the 2 hr. cycle w/cascade. I haven't looked in there yet, but I wouldn't doubt if all that washing/rinsing took the pattern off the dishes and the gold off the silverware... :-/
Since we've still been too slacky to go grocery shopping, we ordered pizza from Nonna Maria, which is always excellent. We order this Garden pizza, which is all veggies... zucchini, broccoli, tomatoes, etc. And we ordered this amazing Parmesan artichoke crostini. Well, I guess there are exceptions to the rule. Our food took more than an hour and a half to get here and I was starving! By then my TINY TINY (Yes Gaz, TINY I SAY!!!) temper started to flare, and I decided "NO TIP FOR YOU!" Which probably isn't right because it's the fault of the kitchen moreso than the driver for everything being so late. Mr. Hype was watching outside when the driver pulled up, or should I say drove by. Apparently he was cruising about 50 down our block, figured out he passed us by a block, and shoved it into reverse and flew backward at an inordinate speed screeching his tires like some gearhead to get to our house. We opened our pizza, which was supposed to be light on the cheese, and it wasn't *grrr*, and our crostini was burnt! I'm glad we didn't tip. We're normally very good tippers, but only for good or at least adequate service. So I was so hungry I inhaled a ton of food in a short amount of time and then was more po'd that they were so late because I wouldn't have pigged out so much if they weren't. >-(
We had the Belgian waffles from the box mix I spoke about yesterday, and they were surprisingly good! We're having them for breakfast/lunch today as well. They're kind of sweet, but not icky like I thought they'd be.
Gee... I spent almost all this time posting about food!

Sleep In Gardens Where I Play My Lute... Where I Lay My Roots...
Good Weekend to you all! (I often wonder if anyone reads my blog posts other than Byrdy... Thanks Byrdles! :D )
Thurs. night we had take out from Il Ritrovo for dinner. It was great as usual, and I wanted good food since I was so sick to my stomach for the 24 hrs. prior. And I've resigned myself to my fate regarding my likely tanked grade on that exam. I looked at what's ahead, and there's more than twice the info and lectures in less time. Another 25 multiple choice and 2 essay exam to cover all that material. Soooo not fair. I'll reiterate: I will never take an at home class again! I really hope I at least got a B on it, but who knows. It's been so long since I've taken an exam. Each exam is 1/3 of the grade. BOOOO! I'm going to start in on the next section today when Mr. Hype goes to work. Well, enough about that.
I talked to my sister a day or two ago, and the Jaklynator is raising hell! (I don't know how old Brandon or Alex is actually, so I don't know if Byrdy or Flem deal w/this kind of stuff. I know Brandon is older... I can tell from the posts... But Alex opening the childproof cupboards sounds like Jakl... She goes into the bottom cupboards and puts things in tupperware... like her blankie... Then it's a disaster w/my sis and bro-in-law trying to find her blankie at nap time.) So anyway, the other day my sister had to run into the basement for a short moment and when she came up, she found that the Jaklynator (BTW, my bro-in-law hates that nickname because it reminds him of the Terminator, which wasn't my intention... I was thinking of that dude on Sat. Nite Live years ago... the skit where that guy was by the copy machine in an office... "Rich! The Richanator! Rich-o-rama!" ... That one... However she does seem to have the destructive power of the Terminator in her!) had grabbed a vacuum attachment (one of those tubes) and dug out all the dirt in a very large plant and flung it all over the room, the carpet, the walls, the molding, you name it, dirt everywhere! And when my sister came up, Jakl was flinging the dirt all over saying "Mess! Mess!". lol! My sister was a bit po'd, but couldn't stop laughing. Jakl knows what a mess is, but seems to be unaware that it isn't a GOOD thing! So she was put in my sister's room w/one of her video tapes running for a bit so my sis could clean up the mess, and when she was done and went up to get Jakl, she found that Jakl had found a pen on a table and had completely colored in both sides of her hands... I mean TOTALLY blue! And of course was wiping it all over herself and her clothes. *chuckles* She can't be left alone for a minute! I wonder if Gaz's Lucy does such things! I LOVE being an auntie, 'cause I don't have to deal w/THAT stuff... I am going to GB for a few hrs. on Fri. as my sis, bro-in-law and Jakl will be there. There's no way these plans will fall thru this time, unless there is some unforeseen disaster, such as my car being stolen? I'm looking forward to it and to taking loads of pics of her, as usual. She must look at me as Auntie Flash Head, because I'm always flashing a camera in her face, and she must just see a body and a flash for a head. :P
Well, after my 10+ days of insomnia, it seems I can't stay awake now! I keep falling asleep during the day, which sucks quite royally! *cries* I just want to stay awake like any normal person. Is that too much to ask? Apparently...
Mr. Hype is making Belgian waffles, but they're from a mix... :-/ He bought it for the hell of it as it doesn't take much time, and we usually make Belgian waffles from scratch, which requires letting the batter rise, etc. Making things from scratch is just healthier than buying something pre-made. The other day, I tried an Amy's micro-wave meal, rather than the usual Lean Cuisine or whatever. It was sooo good! And the ingredients were much better. We always used to get Amy's pizza (I love the artichoke one w/out cheese... it's a weird pizza but good!), but I'm going to stock up on the frozen Amy's stuff instead of Lean Cuisine from now on. Amy's tastes much better! Now I'm going to go and chow! Ciao!!! <--- I know... BOOOOO! :P

Tank!
I just got back from my exam. Damn. I spent the majority of my study time on the info that wasn't really on it, like the musical structure stuff, (of course the more difficult material as well), which was emphasized in the book and in the taped lecture, but barely alluded to on the exam. There were only 25 questions and 2 essays! That makes each question worth too much in my opinion! So, a lot of the questions were about trivial junk, (obviously not trivial to whoever made up the exam), that I barely paid attention to. There were a few that I just had to guess at. Then there were 2 essays and you had to write them in 100-250 words! How can you write ANYTHING in under 250 words!? (You all may have noticed I can't write anything very briefly! ;D ) So when I was done, I re-read my barely legible essays and they read as if a poorly educated 8th grader wrote them. :-/ So, in other words, I think I tanked. However, regardless of my grade, I will post what I got... (eep!) This is my first college exam since 1988, so I'm really RUSTY MAN!!! I will never ever take an at home class again. You just have no feel for what deserves emphasis when you're listening to a tape and it really makes it difficult. So goes the travails of Hype's first class in 16 yrs... On the brighter side, my stomach ache is finally gone. :-)

REALLY Crunch Time...
So, I have one lecture (figure 2 hrs w/notes), and 30 pages left to read... (Also a couple hours IF I take notes on the reading...) The exam is tomorrow. Typical... :P When I'm done w/that, I get to go thru and review/memorize everything from the beginning. It doesn't seem like that much, but due to the fact that I have to listen to lectures on tape, and the boredom quotient, it's a bigger task than you might think. I don't expect to do so well, but whatever I guess.
When I woke up this morning I heard all this noise in the basement, and Mr. Hype wasn't home so I knew it wasn't him. I went downstairs and Stone Temple Pilots were cranking out of the downstairs boom box. My little boys turned it on during the night again! Either they like music, or were trying to get me to come down there and feed them and play with them. Try telling a couple rambunctious kitties that you can't play because you have a boring class to deal with. They don't get it. Mr. Hype will be back tonight so he'll have to spend some extra time playing w/them because I haven't had the time. They need to be brushed too. I hate when they shed all over!
I suppose I'll visit some blogs now and then go study. I got some new espresso yesterday, and I just made some. :-) Fresh and yummy! Ciao!

Crunch Time...
My internet went out yesterday... >-/ And to make it worse, my ISP was having some issues w/their phone system. They had an area wide problem and no one around here had service, and by last night, still no service, so I called... their heinous and evil automated phone system... After 3-4 menus, and a long automated ramble about some unimportant issue, I finally got to the menu I needed... the one to get a human you know? When I got there, the line was busy! WTF!? They have queues! So I went thru this process THREE more times, getting angrier and angrier, and always getting a busy signal. I must have been swearing and stomping around quite loudly, as Mr. Hype, who was in the basement asked me what was going on. So I never got thru to them. Thankfully today everything is resolved, because if I had to call them again, I might just have verbally murdered the first human I spoke to. (Yeah, sometimes I have a TINY TINY bit of a temper...)
More bad service: I ordered vitamin E online, because I can never find the kind I want in the stores. I got my fed-ex package yesterday... vitamin C! >-( I called their customer service yesterday and today... No one there. Left a message... No one has called back. *grrrrrr* I won't go into the "I can't stand bad service" diatribe today...
On the school note. Crunch time... I have to do all the rest of it TODAY. I will have tomorrow to review, and then the exam is Thursday. So I will be doing lectures and reading all day... I'm off to start now... *snores*

Sitting On The Angry Chair...
I'm up and have a ton of homework... just about 2 hrs of lecture and 30 pages left to read. Doesn't sound like much at all, but it's more daunting a task than some of my upper level econ. classes which were complete w/stats (and I haven't taken stats yet). I found some sample questions at the end of my study guide. The multiple choice looks quite simple, surprisingly, and the essays SUCK! They might as well say "Write everything in the book and the lectures on paper omitting nothing"! I usually prefer essays, but these are just sucky. My exam is Thursday at 3pm. I need to finish this crap so I can review it all and memorize all the boring minutiae like some freaky automaton.
On the way to my appt. today, I'm going to go get some fresh espresso. I'm not going to bother w/the decaf. Espresso has less caffeine than reg coffee anyhoo, unless you drink a huge regular size coffee mug full, of course. I'm still cringing from my rancid espresso experience last night.
Yesterday we ordered lunch from the Mucky Duck. It was so good! I got lobster, shrimp and scallops in a marinara sauce over angel hair pasta. (I see now on the new menu it says "mock lobster", but the menu we had didn't. It didn't taste mock! Not at all!) I didn't care for the marinara, so I pushed it to the side. It was really good. Mr. Hype got something similar in a very light cream sauce on linguini. I thought his was better but they were both really good. (I snuck some of his lobster and scallops when he wasn't looking because his had a lot more on it! :P )
I guess I better go get ready to go!

I Should Be Sleeping...
Yeah, so I'm blogging at this hour. Not usually a big deal, but I should be sleeping as I have to be able to focus to get thru my lectures and my reading. (Yeah, I still have quite a bit left...) I have been craving espresso for the last hour or so, and I found some decaf espresso that must be at least 2 years old. :-/ I also found this cool spice mix that I bought at the coffee shop when I got the espresso so I put that in there. I haven't drank it yet, but I will after I'm done blogging. I hope it doesn't taste icky. I need to buy fresh espresso. Reg and decaf. I have both now, but I figured decaf would be best for this time of night. I fell asleep at around 8pm and woke up at 10pm and now I'm pretty awake. I have no circadian rhythm. :-/ I'll probably be spaced out tomorrow and it will be hard to study.
So I was looking at blog posts and thinking about that grammar quiz. It's probably about 4th or 5th grade level? Anyway, it's interesting, because so many of those quizzes have atrocious grammar! It drives me nuts when people use "your" when they should use "you're", and that is RAMPANT in quiz results! Not to sound like Cat, but it makes me twitch! *twitches* Espresso time!

Shorter Posts & Naughty Cats...
Aight... I am aware that my posts have been very long. I'll shorten them, because otherwise no one reads them.
I have a little less than 1/2 of my class work to do now. I'm definitely going to keep up and do a bit daily over the next month because there is MUCH more material! A tiny tiny minute portion of the stuff is interesting, and that would be the musical structure parts. Otherwise... SNORE!!!
I'm getting excited about the volunteer work w/the Special Olympics. Since no one read my other post, I'll say it again... I'm going to be a Bocci Ball coach this summer! I used to play it sometimes w/my cousins, but I don't remember how. Should be fun and I always wanted to work w/mentally handicapped people. Which reminds me that I will have to blog on my view that there is no such thing as altruism... another time.
My kitties were sooooo naughty this morning! They dumped a huge kitchen garbage down the basement stairs. Garbage EVERYWHERE! Coffee grounds and all kinds of icky stuff! *singing*: Bad boys bad boys... Whacha gonna do...
Hope that's short enough... >-P

Saturday Saturday Saturday!!! All Homework! All The Time!!!
Doesn't sound as good as "Sunday Sunday Sunday" does it? Ah well. I have really been seriously procrastinating w/the homework for the past few weeks. Not entirely my fault, as I was far too exhausted. Now that I have slept well 2 nights in a row, I don't have a lot of excuses anymore. (Except my headache, but I guess I'll have to deal and hope it doesn't get bad bad.) I have 2 hrs of lecture to listen to today, which actually comes to 4 hours because the dude talks double time and I have to keep pausing the tape to take notes. Then I have a lot to read and take notes on, and then over the next week I need to re-read it all and study my notes, and perhaps listen to the lectures again, but I don't know about re-listening to the lectures, as I don't want to hear THAT music anymore! (They play little snippets of relevant music, and I'm not that fond of that era/genre.) I have learned something (of value?) thru all this anyway. I can pull a blues progression out of my hat!!! ... Even tho I'm not wearing one! Bullwinkle would be jealous. This doesn't fall under the category of extreme procrastination that I practiced back in the 80s: Skip all classes for 3 weeks, don't do any reading for 3+ weeks, read 1/3 of the coursework the day before the exam while drinking beers at the school rathskeller while cranking a walkman to drown out some of the crappy music they would play, (yeah, they had a pub on campus back in the good ole days...), go out until bar time directly from school, wake up w/hangover from hell almost too sick to make it to class, go to class at 8am and whip thru the exam really fast so I don't get ill during the exam, get an A. Well, it worked for me then, but that was THEN. I don't really drink much anymore. I wonder how I might have done better had I not been a partier and been focused, the way most of you who are in school are now. I guess it would have been different. My college years were far different from what I hear of yours. And everyone I knew back then, I mean hundreds of people (save a handful), put social life and partying before studies. It seems that students must be more responsible now (unless you guys are in that "small handful" category.) The only person I EVER remember skipping a party or going out in order to study was one of my roommates who was pre-med. I don't know how most schools are, however I DO know how Madison is, so I can definitely give Flem credit for avoiding the party trap. A friend of mine went to Madison for a year, and had a 1.5 gpa :o ! He transferred to GB, and maintained a 4.0. Had to get away from Madison I guess! :P I wish I was more focused back then, even if I didn't do completely shitty. I guess my grades were pretty good for someone who put in so little effort, so I'll be happy about that anyhoo...
Something new on my end: I'm going to be a volunteer for the Special Olympics this summer! I'll be working w/the adult program and I'm going to be (don't laugh) a Bocci ball coach! I haven't played Bocci ball in a long time. I don't even remember how, but I guess that's not an issue, because I'll be taught. I'm really looking forward to this, as I have been interested in this for a while, but never got around (procrastinated?) to actually calling until recently. So I start all of this in May. :-)
Martha Martha Martha! *snicker snicker snicker* I do think they would be crazy not to put her in the kitchen in prison. The "analysts" (who are not usually correct anyhoo), are saying she'll get one year in prison. If they did put her in the kitchen, she'd probably be bitching for spices and ingredients that aren't usually delivered to prison... (Arugalla, capers, etc.) Catboy has a point w/his little taggie comment. (No, not the Cat-appropriate "gang bang" comment... sheesh!) They better keep the soap away from her because she probably CAN whittle a weapon out of it! She wouldn't need a knife either... just a sharp carrot stick or something... The McGyver of the kitchen. Someone Mr. Hype works with was saying that he hopes she televises her show from prison, and I asked Mr. Hype if this guy WATCHED Martha in the first place, and he said no, but THEN he would! I don't watch Martha either, but if she did a show from prison, I think I would definitely tune in! I think it would do very well! Holiday decorating for your cell, and such...
Listening to: Alice in Chains Music Bank: The Videos... I have much of the same music on cd, however the sound from the DVD is far superior. It rocks the subwoofer like... a rocking subwoofery thing...

The Everglades (Of WI)
I have begun to succumb to the "Sump Pump Cuckoo Clock Syndrome". Just like Mr. Hype. This morning when I got up: "60 seconds! It's only been 60 seconds and it's gone off again!" Then I'd sit there and have a cigarette (I smoke only in the basement next to a huge-ass hepa filter BTW, thus no smoke smell in the house, 'cause I hate the smell of smoke... go figure), and I'd watch the metal bar on the sump pump go up (rapidly), and think "God, I hope the motor doesn't burn out or something", and watch it kick in every 1-2 minutes.
Our back yard lake is HUGE! The rest of the yard looks like the Everglades. You can see the grass poking out of the water, or see the water over the grass, however you like to visualize it. We just need one of those air-fan type boats (whatever they're called), and then we could charge for Wisconsin Everglades Tours, even if it would be a small tour in small circles. Maybe the fan from one of those boats would blow some of the water into someone else's yard for once. That would be futile, however, as it would just seep back into our yard. I have GOT to have someone help me set up my website, (which wouldn't be an actual website, just someplace to put pics), so I could load them onto my blog, and you could see our lovely lake. It actually looks a bit turbid, so I wouldn't call it lovely I guess. My dad says I should call Jordan (the city engineer, who btw is an awfully nice looking dude who lives w/his scared-of-lightening yellow lab... FYI BYRDY! ;P ), and have him come over. He ALWAYS shows up w/in hours of when I call, which is cool. THAT's service! Anyhoo, my dad says when he comes over, we should be sitting in the backyard w/fishing poles in our lake to emphasize the fact that we want our mini-storm asap! :P Yeah, that's something my dad and his buddy that used to live next door to us when I was younger would definitely have done. hehe... :-) WARNING... TANGENT TO FOLLOW: In the neighborhood we lived in when I was growing up, my parents and our neighbors were really good friends. We'll call them Ed & K. Ed was a RIOT! One of the kindest, nicest, funniest and greatest people ever. He and my dad were really good buds. (He'd come over and knock on the door and ask me if my dad could come out and play and such. :P ) I remember one time in the summer when I had just graduated high school. My dad was on a ladder painting the trim on the house one Saturday and I was just laying around my room, and I hear a knock on my bedroom window screen. It was Ed. "Hey 'Hype'! Let's get lawn chairs and beers and go watch your dad work!" So we got a couple of lounge chairs and cracked some beers and laid in the sun and watched my dad work. My dad was really laughing. (So were we.) Typical Ed I guess. Anyway, I digress, as usual, but that came to mind and I felt like blogging it!
Anyhoo, I am going to call Jordan after I'm done blogging. I want to find out if they have a more definitive date (month?) as to when they will do the mini-storm. On the very bright side... No basement flooding!!! Our sump pump hose goes around the house and out onto the end of our driveway and into the street now, and that helps immensely. Also, the new gutters have prevented the gutter overflow we had when we had crappy old cracked ones, and so the other side of the basement hasn't flooded either. You have to understand, we are in NO WAY in an actual flood area, or an area where people's basements flood. Only OURS! That is because our yard is the lowest point in the neighborhood, so our back yard is one big basin for all the water of the neighborhood to flow to. If we still have too much water after the mini-storm, we're going to raise the level of the yard w/dirt so that it's at LEAST equal to the height of the rest of the area, (maybe even higher! muwahahahaa! Payback!)
There has been some major flooding around the state. There are areas you can't drive thru, (which typically some moron does anyway, and when their car starts to float away they yell "Now what am I supposed to do!?") That actual sentence came from a woman a few years ago who drove into a HUGE very flooded underpass on the highway in Milwaukee, and her car started to float away. It was all on camera and on the news. People like that deserve their idiocy preserved on film. hehe...
Wow, this is getting long... Oh well! :P On a good note... I didn't take one of my meds last night: My dr. had increased the dose of one of my meds a couple weeks ago, and that has been causing my insomnia. I have been aware of that all along, but didn't want to skip the last dose anyway, at least not right away. So I skipped it last night and got a whopping 10 hrs of sleep! Believe it or not, I'm still exhausted. I was in collapse mode for a few days, actually. I am waiting for a call back from him, as I want to put the med dose back the way it was. I can't function the way I am otherwise. Mono-tired, you know? So, after another good night's sleep tonight, I should be in decent shape to cram 3 weeks of lecture and reading in on Saturday. Then I have a few days to review before the exam. (It's really only about a week or so of work that would be given if it was an in-class class. Maybe 2.) So things are looking up!
Oh! I almost forgot to mention that my sideboard (the furniture I was waiting for) was delivered yesterday and I adore it! It has much more storage than the particle-board piece of crap we had. And its solid wood and black. There are 2 shelves in the middle that don't have a door over them. I can see already that they will soon be known as "cat-perches". I REFUSE to let those boys on or in this thing! I don't want them ruining it w/their claws and footprints. It will definitely be a task to keep them away from it...
So, I think I'm done w/this chapter of my novel! Have a great weekend everyone! ...there goes the sump pump again... Gotta call Jordan!

Rain...
Well, not much to blog about. I'm still trying to get some decent sleep and it's not happening. On a brighter note, my sideboard furniture thang is delivered today. I'll finally be able to get all the stuff off the floor now. It looks like a disaster at the mo.
When you think life can't get any worse... *sigh* I've mentioned our problems w/our basement flooding etc. Well, we're under a flood watch right now. Practically half the state is. Maybe we'll wake up and the water will be all the way up to the house! I do NOT want to spend the next 48 hours mopping up the basement and trying to keep wall to wall carpet from getting wet ('cause ya can't anyhoo!)... Seeing as our backyard lake is bigger than ever, we'll probably have more ducks anyway! That's just wrong... *cries and hopes the state will reconsider certifying our lot as a wetland and buying it for big bucks*

Way Too Zoned...
I slept crappy last night, so at about 4am, I took my antihistamine, and slept crappy for a while, then went back to sleep until 12:30. Now I'm spacey and feel like crap, so I'm not going to Chicago. At least that gives me time to maybe do that thing I haven't done for a few weeks but should have done... maybe...
Mr. Hype is out of town tonight. That means I don't get to hear him in Sump Pump Cuckoo Clock Mode anyway. "Four minutes... it's only been four minutes since it went off last..." :P Our back yard lake is bigger than ever right now, but we haven't had any flooding. Knock on wood... well, my weird formica desk anyway. I'm so zoned/tired!

Pardon My Driving... I'm Reloading...
Good Monday to ya'll! I had a relatively uneventful weekend. I spent a good share of it TRYING to sleep, but being unable to. I keep telling myself I will take this prescription anti-histamine I have, so that I'll fall asleep, but I haven't done it yet.
Mr. Hype and I played our geeky card game this weekend. We both won some games but I was really crabby when I lost. (PMS donchaknow!) However, I do seem to be in an OK mood today, which is surprising, actually. I spoke w/an ambassador of Evil Inc. this morning, and I didn't even go off, even though they have made a debacle of one of my claims for TWO YEARS. I am NOT paying for it this time just because I'm frustrated that they keep sending me the same garbage over and over. They keep sending me a letter denying my claim because they don't have the provider info, but they do, and always have had it, and I was told by several of their reps that they do have the info, so it's going to some higher level of Evil Inc. to be dealt with.
I am also sick to death of those damned automated answering thangs... They are pathetic, and made so that people won't go through the trouble of going all the way to a human rep. (I didn't make that up, it's true. Someone once told me that they spoke w/someone they knew and that they said their company designed their automated service like that, and that many companies actually do that to lower their call volume.) <----Ummm... Yeah... That statement would hold up in court.... Nevertheless... It IS true.
I still haven't touched the books. I suppose I should today. My exam is a week from Thursday and I'm not even 1/2 way thru the reading, although I'm 1/2 way thru the lectures. Maybe later... Hahaha... Yeah... Sure... :P
