AAACK!
I just realized I have to leave in about 5 minutes. (Orthopedic dude for my ankle...) So I guess I can't blog now really. No time. Also, BTW Flem, if I told you how I lost my license 3 (or 4?) times, it would take eons. However, I could do a special posting on some of the more humorous (thank God no one got hurt) accidents and interactions with police. Such as when I side-swiped a cop, or the time I took out a traffic light and when the police found my car... well it's a longer more humorous story involving being chased by the mob, etc. :P Perhaps I'll tell those two... :-) DISCLAIMER!! I don't condone the behavior that caused these accidents! Things could have been deadly and I was very very very blessed to never have hurt or killed anyone. I'll post about that after I post about the other weekend stuff... OOOH! Yesterday I ate 1/2 of a Boston Cream Pie... (in 2 sittings! bleah~! but yum!) Don't know what came over me... Posessed by the ghost of John Candy? Oooh.. that was in poor taste. Sorry. And the day before I had a custard filled long john. I usually don't eat bakery stuff so I thought I'd mention my yummy bakery eats! My ride to GB is here. Ciao for now... More l8r. Lucky you!

I'm a Wishbone... And I'm Wishin'...
Getting ready for a weekend w/the guys. Mr. H.'s buds are coming up tonight until Sunday to help prepare the basement for our waterproofing. (Which is a LOT of work!) This time I plan to make a HUGE ASS breakfast for them tomorrow so Frank won't guilt me about not being wifely, and how his wife always makes a big breakfast, etc. :P I think Italian omelets, Canadian bacon (ooh! Two countries already!), maybe Belgian waffles... THREE countries! hahaha! Or pancakes, etc. etc. Frank will probably show up before Mr. H. gets home from work, as usual, and scare Zeros to death, and Chance is showing up around 9-9:30pm (I hope!) He's the one w/the 2k3 Trans Am w/the rebuilt engine and he drives 140mph up 43 from Mke to here. I was trying to explain how I lost my license 2-3 times by his age (25), but ya can't talk sense to those yunguns! Perhaps I'll update l8r this weekend...
Have ya' heard about Big Red...

Tornados Everywhere~~
Too tired to post much for now. We spent some time in the basement (yuck) with sirens blaring. Tornados hit in a lot of SE WI. Kinda goofy that the parking lot of the TV station we were watching got nailed by one and this HUGE satellite truck (think like 18 wheeler w/more gadgets) was just laying on it's side. Gotta go see if I can catch the news and see how much more damage there was! Our house is still standing... Too bad the wind didn't just rip the ugly siding off and we could get new siding! :P

Discounted Bloodroot Zigging Puffin
Yesterday's dinner turned out pretty good, with a glitch or two. To start with, we went to pick up groceries, etc., and I didn't bring my crutchs, and mangled my leg up past the knee yet again, so I couldn't do much cooking. Mr. Hype and his mom did most everything while I played foreman. (And not the kindest foreman: "Those pears are cubed too big! Make 'em smaller!") So, Mr. Hype thought it was the best ham he ever had. I didn't care for it, as it was smoked. However, if I could have lit it and smoked it myself, I'm sure I'd have a different opinion. Yep, still want a cigarette! The potatoes didn't turn out too well, but that's not so much my fault as the fact that the Cajun seasoning we bought wasn't too good. Everything else turned out great. The icecream cake from DQ, (mind you this is a NORMAL round size cake, not a big square one), was $18 after the $2 off coupon. That's a bit expensive I think. (Guess I need Byrdle's opinion on that!) Anyhoo, I think I ate about 1/4 of it... *turns red* I think I put on about 5 lbs in the past week... ugh...
Sometime while the ham was cooking, I was the perfect hostess and fell asleep... *turns red again* I think my father in law did too, tho. Anyhoo, all in all we had a good time and for the first time ever, I think, we had leftovers to give to THEM!
I would very much like 2 drags of a cigarette!
This quiz is one of the better I've come across in a while:
 You are Feng-huang!
Mythological Background: The phoenix is the highest and most revered force in the skies. It's associated with power and prosperity, because it is the king of all birds. Mars brings about intense love, passion, and even aggression. It is given the best traits of all beasts - its different parts come from different animals. The five mystical colours in its plume are black, white, red, green and yellow. The Phoenix is a very auspicious aspect in Chinese mythological culture; and its symbol is used only with royalty. Happy Fathers' Day!
First of all, Happy Fathers Day to all you fathers! :D We're having Mr. Hype's rents over for Fathers Day, and I'm cooking... a whole meal. I never cooked a ham before so I had to get instructions from the mother unit. We have to get a meat thermometer. We also had to cut the ham in half or we'd have enough to feed a small foreign country. This is still from last weekend's Patrick Cudahay gig that Mr. Hype did. We have so much meat! I'm also making a big fav here: avocado, pear, spinach salad. Sounds weird. Tastes amazing! And Red Russet potatoes with Cajun seasoning, and mo-in-law is bringing a cool jello thang, and *ACK!!!* ... I forgot fruit! I'll have to get some fresh fruit, and we're having a DQ Fathers Day ice cream cake. The ham will take about 2-3 hrs to cook I guess. I hope it all turns out OK. I think it will. I hope the ham is good. It's a smoked honey/molasses ham. I've never had such a thing, so we'll see. So I'm waiting for Mr. Hype to get out of the shower so we can go shopping. (Still can't drive and have to wear a stupid ugly slipper on my right foot! >-/ ) I need an apron too, 'cause I'm a sloppy cook!
This weekend is the one year anniversary of the death of our former cat, Trepp. We still have his ashes and we're going to bury his ashes, his name tag, and one of his fav toys under a new shrub or tree, thus the ashes providing food for the tree, completing the circle of life. I think it's a great way to remember the guy!
A few nights ago the Chief Inspector (not Clousseau) from Everdry came over for a few hours and went over everything. He was sure a breath of fresh air compared to that annoying sales dude that we met with the first time! Bleah... At the end of the first meeting I was holding back from yelling obscenities because he wanted us to just sign a contract (not a cheap one mind you), when we had NO financing set up and he kept badgering us! The inspector, Greg, knew much more (he's at the top), told us we didn't have nearly as much work to do ourselves, was loads of fun, and saved us over $1K by putting us on an "on call" list. He was so much fun! Really funny, telling us stories of other jobs and some of his pathetic former employees who couldn't spell "basement". *snicker* He also said in all his years, he had never seen an under ground aquifer come into a basement like the one under Mr. Hype's tub. We're definitely over a swampy/spring sort of thang. The sad thing is, we had a new driveway put in 2 yrs ago, and they have to tear up part of it and they don't fix it. That's up to us. I'll just be happy to have a dry basement. Anyway, enough of that. I just wish you guys could have heard the stories he told us. He had us rolling...
I talked to Kay yesterday. She amazes me. She quit smoking in March after smoking a pack and a half a day. She quit when she had a cold. She doesn't crave smokes. I quit when all I had been smoking was 5-7 cigs/day tops, and I'm jonesing like a junkie! What's with that! We're on our way to the store. I hope I can keep myself away from the smokes. (I only want 2 drags of one!!!) *sigh*
Have a wiggy Sunday!!! :D

I'm Pathetic...
OK, so this not smoking thing isn't easy even tho I haven't been smoking much to begin with. I've pretty much stuck to it, except today I found a half smoked cigarette in the garage in a ashtray (must have been at least 2 yrs old) and smoked what was left of it. (Which isn't nearly as disgusting as me digging thru the garbage for tiny gross cigarette butts a few days ago...) My lungs are in decent enough shape, it's just everything else. When I see my allergist they do a lung test and I have lungs in better shape than a non-smoker of my age. But that doesn't mean there aren't other consequences or that things can't turn, so quitting at a point where I haven't been smoking much to begin with is probably the best thing. In 3 months I should be in better shape, however I know people who quit for 9 mos while they were pregnant and then started again. I hope I don't quit for a long time then start. It's really rough. I admire all who quit including Kay.
Let's see, briefly... Weather today... Flood watch (big surprise). It's been sunny and hot, but I can't do much as I drove to an appt the other day (3.5 hrs of driving total) and cashed my ankle/leg again, so I'm still in the "icing" mode and don't feel like going around outside on crutches. On the way back from my appt. the other day I drove by a hybrid. I didn't see if it was Toy or Honda, but damn was it UGLY! Apparently, what they don't tell you, is that you have to get a new battery every 30,000 miles and they're $2,000. (If that info is wrong, blame Mr. H.)
The chief Inspector (Not Clousseau!) of the basement waterproofing co. is coming over tonight to check things out and maybe we'll get a lower price. There is so much to do before they get here, I don't even know if we'll get it done this YEAR! Sucks. I better make myself look presentable. Earlier the doorbell rang, and my hair was all Medusa from just getting up and I just looked like SHIT, and of course it's a really cute guy who needed info about some neighborhood stuff, so I had to sit and talk to him while I looked like a monstrosity. Married or not, who wants to look like a monster in front of a cute guy!?

I'm Going To Be An Auntie To Another One Of These?!
I just thought I'd mention this 'cause it cracked me up. My sis and fam (including the Jaklynator) are in Orlando right now... Once time my bro-in-law said he didn't like my nickname for her (Jaklynator) because it sounded too much like the Terminator, and as I said, I was thinking of that dude from SNL...("Rich, Richinator, Rich-o-rama..."). Anyhoo, I think as time has gone on, the Terminator reference is closer to the truth. I was talking to my mom after she talked to my sister today, and the Jaklynator pulled a funny stunt. They were taking the elevator up to their condo, and the Jakl (who loves to hit buttons) hit the "emergency" button. Apparently the phone in there rang several times and people were all freaked and wondering what the emergency was, etc. I suppose they were thinking someone had a heart attack or something, and my embarrassed sister had to say "Sorry, that was just my daughter pushing buttons!" lol! Sign me: Happy to be an Auntie!!! :D

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.....
....Lives in a pineapple under the sea? ...SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!!
So Mr. Hype and I went to the new Blue Harbor convention center. Really amazing. They went little overboard w/the nautical theme, especially in kids part of our room because it had a separate room for kids (very tiny, like a walk in closet), that was decorated like the setting for Spongebob. It had a bunk bed plus another bed on the side (shaped like boats) and it's own TV. The rest of the room was great! Because we got the one w/the kids room, we only got a Queen size bed, but the room was huge w/a fireplace and a TV in the wall up by the ceiling in the corner. It was more of a suite actually with a couch and coffee table, plus a table and chairs, dressers, a bar type area w/a fridge, microwave and safe, and the view was over Lake Michigan (the Big Toilet) one way, and over the (overflowing) Sheboygan River on the other. We went and had an amazing dinner. (There are several restaurants), but unfortunately it didn't sit well with me. Too much fat I think. They have their own candy shop so Mr. H. stopped there and got some wonderful chocolate! Unfortunately, I was completely exhausted so all I did was sleep (for about 3 days actually), and I never saw the water park. They have an Aveda spa, and I've been to Aveda spas before and theirs was over priced. When we got back from dinner, there was a brand new suitcase on the bed for the sales people. (This was a Patrick Cudahay event.) They must have thought Mr. H. was in sales, because he got one too! Also, the day before, he brought home 2 gorgeous flower arrangements! :D At the end of the presentation Fri. morn, they had TONS of meat that they used for presentations that they were just going to dump into the dumpsters, so Mr. Hype asked for some and brought home about 30 lbs of ham, turkey, etc. LOTS of meat and none is beef! They really should have donated all of that to a homeless shelter. I went home Fri. morn as Mr. H. worked all day and I was so exhausted, I thought I'd just get home and crash there, ice my foot, etc., rather than pack l8r. (I'm not supposed to be driving either.) So I only stayed over one night and that night I swear to God there were clog dancers on the floor above us. Pretty tough since it's CARPET!!! There were a lot of peeps from the American Club checking out the competition. It really is nice. The rooms go for close to $300/night I believe.
We're still under flood watches, but no probs at our house. They showed a pic in the news of this guy and his entire fam in a mini-van, who (stupidly) drove into running water on the road and his vehicle was floating/tipping and he was rowing w/an oar! Must have been going on vacation. DOH! Every time WI has flooding, some moron drives into the water and floats away. *sigh...
I should also clarify the "EXPECTANT" mood I had up there. I had it there because I was sort of expectant as to what Blue Harbor would be like. I am NOT pregnant! HOWEVER... My sister is!!! Just found out. Congrats Lil' Sis! (Who's probably barfing on a plane to Orlando right now.)

Blue Harbor.... WooHAAAAAAA!!!!
Well, just like what Byrds said, we've got rain. Flood warnings until noon tomorrow I think, since last night. It was really pouring down yesterday aft., but for some reason we didn't flood! 2"/hr! I think because it was dry for a while... and hot. All I can say is that I hope Byrds doesn't have carpet in the basement, and that she should put some purdy fish in there! :D
I'm excited 'cause Mr. Hype has a gig at the new convention center, Blue Harbor, which is at the mouth of the river and Lake Michigan (you remember... the big toilet?) This place is supposed to be way cool. I see it from the coffee shop across on the boardwalk all the time. It's HUGE! I guess in the center they have a water park, (which I think is tacky... they should have an exotic floral exhibit or something...), but I'll give the report soon. I'm going to be going back and forth because it's only a few miles from here, so when Mr. Hype is working, I'll just come home and shower and all that so I don't have to pack a lot. I'm not supposed to be there, so if anyone asks, I'm a "guest" of a paying customer. :D There are several restaurants and so far, uncompleted condos attached to it. This is HUGE! I get to bring my lovely crutches, so I spent a while looking for a slipper to kind of match my shoe because I can't get a shoe on my right foot. :-/ It'll be nice to get away, even if it's just a couple of miles, because it will be like being in a different state. Mr. Hype has some sucky hours, but he's done at 5:30pm tonight so we're going to go to dinner (his paid by the company, mine not), and look around, blah blah. I just wish I didn't have those embarrassing crutches. Next time someone asks me what happened, instead of saying that I wrecked my entire leg getting out of a chair, I think I'll tell them I had this horrid, devastating Rugby accident. Only prob, is I don't look like a Rugby player. More like a darts player... :-/

Somethin's Goin' Wrong Around Here... (To Quote Joe Jackson)
ACCIDENTS! Everywhere! Me, Byrdy, Kay, my sister fell down the stairs, a friend of my mom's fell down the stairs (major accident, 40 stitches in her head, broken wrist, etc), prior to that Bluey broke her hand and Mr. Bluey fell off a ladder and they couldn't believe he survived.
Tonight, after sleeping all day, the in-laws are coming and we're getting Papa Murphy's and having a little celebration for my mother-in-law's b-day. I've started back w/the espresso iced mochas. I feel like a zombie. It's 55 degrees out. 77 in the house, and 99 at my sister's outside Chicago. Looks like rain...
The quitting smoking thing... Going OK, but not completely quit. I have been steady at 3 smokes a day, which isn't bad...
I am soooooo tired... I'm off to crank tunes and try to wake up... ugh... If I turn the volume up any louder, the neighbors and police will be here. :-/

More Quizzes...
It's early and I have had no sleep, so for now, more quizzes for the bored:
In medieval Europe, dragons were considered mostly evil and a generally bad omen. Christianity linked the dragon with Satan because of the dragon's snake-like appearance. However, to the Orient cultures the dragon was a symbol of wisdom and royalty. It was a benign animal and the fifth creature of the Chinese zodiac. It resided over the east and the sunrise. It was also said to bring rain and the springtime. The dragon is interesting because it combines all four elements: air, earth, fire, and water. It could fly, had the horns of a ox, breathed fire, and resided over the moon.

JONESIN' JONESIN' JONESIN' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had my very last cigarette a little while ago. Just knowing I can't have one is driving me crazy! It will be the worst when I'm on the phone, driving, or after eating. I have more of a problem with the ritualistic part of smoking than w/the nicotine (so far). How does a person drive w/out lighting a cigarette first? How can I talk on the phone w/out smoking? I know a lot of people who quit after getting emphysema or having a heart attack. Then it was very simple for them to quit. I'm not waiting that long! The yucky part is that you cough up phlegm (NOT PHLEGMY!) for 3 months as your lungs clear out. I almost quit smoking a couple times in college but I was sabotaged! A couple years in a row there were annual "Hype Quit Smoking" parties, where I had to buy a bunch of half barrels, as I bet various people I could quit for a month or two, etc. One year my roomie stuck a cigarette where I kept my lipstick in my purse after I had been smoke free for over 2 weeks! She did it when we were out partying and of course I smoked it. All because we had a bet that if I couldn't make it a month I'd buy her dinner! And another "Hype Quit Smoking" party, of course. That was MEAN! So, instead of a cigarette I'm having the next logical thing... a quadruple espresso iced mocha. (Then I can be spazzy AND irritable.)
It doesn't help that I can't go anywhere. It's my right foot that's wrecked. It's still really swollen, but a lot of the bruising is gone. It sucks because when the pain comes, it goes all the way up to my knee. It was pretty good until last night and then it just started killing me for no apparent reason. So I'm stuck in the house, alone, not able to do much of anything, and not smoking. Maybe I should dig up some DVDs and watch them or something.
Yesterday, Mr. Hype and I, his sister and bro and his kids, his aunt and uncle, and the in-laws went out to the Mucky Duck for a late lunch. I got scallops... (They're on the "moderately full of mercury" list as opposed to the "boatload full of mercury" list.) They were really good. Had a few pints of beer and everyone was joking that I'd wreck my other ankle. (Good thing it didn't happen!) It was a lot of fun until afterward everyone decided to go for a walk on the boardwalk. (Yeah, me and my crutches.) Mr. Hype said he knew we should have taken our own car because he thought something like that might happen. No biggie, we just went back into the Mucky Duck and sat at the bar and drank more pints! (Killian's Red! YUM!) Talked to the bartender, and one of the waitresses who looked like she was 16, but she was getting ready to leave and was wearing a Grateful Dead t-shirt. I'm kind of a Deadhead. I was freaked because she was so young and she said her older sisters used to follow the Dead around the country and she saw them the first time when she was only 5! And she got to meet Bob Weir... How lucky is that!? (Yeah, I know, you yunguns don't know WHAT I'm talking about!)

This is V. X. Hype, and I Approve This Blog Post.
I need SLEEP! I have been so tired and I'm trying to get some sleep during the day but it's not working so well. (The double espresso mochas perhaps?) Not really, that isn't that much caffeine. Other than icing and elevating my foot, I haven't done much. I made Brett Favre's Mother's Chili again. Yum! It's not as good with beef as it is w/soy burger. No shit. My kitties are being rambunctious as they haven't been up a whole lot this week. Kuronekno always runs in here (puter room) when I'm online and gets into the bubble wrap. I guess it's not just people who love bubble wrap.
Mr. Hype and I may go to a movie this weekend, but we don't know what to see. Probably Shrek 2. I only saw the first Harry Potter and don't remember it, so we won't go to the third. We still have to get ROTK on DVD, which we haven't yet. Yay for subtitles!!!
And I've mentioned this before, but it has become rampant again. I'm talking about all the "increase your penis size" spams. I'm getting about 50 a day I'd say? Plus all the other spam, (loaded with viruses, I might add).
I'm off to try to sleep again...

Same As It Ever Was *Whacks Self In Head*
More of the same. My toes/foot/ankle/leg is/are really screwed up and I have to keep elevating and icing and walking w/crutches. It's all a lovely shade of navy blue right now. :D I was told it may be up to six months before the swelling goes all the way down. So there isn't a whole lot I can do, thus not much to blog about. We're finally getting something done about our flooding basement, (for a small fortune >-( ). That won't happen until about August because of the backlog, but apparently it's worse than we thought. The water that we joked about being an artesian well is pretty much just that: ground water coming up in a pool thru the floor under the tub. (Unfortunately not the money making clear artesian type.) Off to ice my ankle!
