AAAAAAAAAAACK!!!
I wrote a huge-ass long post and it disappeared on me!!! >-( My puter is bad enough as it is... It crashed yesterday and I couldn't get it back up and Mr. H.'s puter couldn't be used because he had his HD hooked up to a laptop or something (?) I have to get a new puter soon. Even the color and contrast are bad. I have to highlight the print on some blogs because I can't see the words...
The head construction bizzo was just here because they have to replace a window they broke. There is so much dust in this house that came thru the vents, it's unreal. (Side note for Byrdles... The bizzo that was just here was REALLY HOT! I didn't see if he was wearing a ring tho... ;P )
I'm really bumming because my fiend KMF (who lives in Mpls) asked me if I wanted to go to NYC for a week just to get away. I've never been to NYC and REALLY want to go and I've been thru a lot of stress this year and really need a vacation. I haven't had a vacation for years. But I have NO MONEY! *sobs salty tears all over keyboard* I am truly upset about this... *sigh* She's the one I spoke about in the past who was going to marry this Russian dude. I told her the first time she told me about him that he was bad news, something wasn't right, dump him. She didn't. Everytime I talked to her, things sounded more and more suspicious and weird and wrong, but she wouldn't break up w/him. She's really intelligent too... book smart (she has an MBA) and street smart, so it was a real shock that she put herself in this situation. He was to have an immigration hearing this month when he asked her an inappropriate question of a financial nature. That's when she got suspicious enough to hire a PI from the Ukraine to follow him for 3 days. So she found out that when he was online w/her and said he had to go to court for an hour, he really picked up some girlfriend and was making out in the car w/her, etc. Also, he isn't even divorced and still lives w/the wife and kids!!! KMF was sent pics of all of this from the PI, and she sent copies to this bastard and he has the nerve to say "Oh, those are fake." She's like "I don't think so." And he says "Well, it's over." She says "Damn right it's over!" He was after her money the way it looked, and was trying to get his family over here. It also looked like he's done this before. So he's married, w/a gf and was going to come here and marry KMF!!! MY GOD!! She said she's really happy to be rid of him. I don't know why she didn't do it eons ago... Oh well, alls well that ends well. :D But I still can't go to NYC! It's not just that... I haven't seen KMF in person in years and it would be nice to see her. Hopefully soon.
I am signing up for another class. American Indian Mythology. At least it doesn't sound boring. It's on campus also. It fulfills my Ethnic Studies requirement, so I'll have all of TWO classes! What a load! They both start in December.
I am exhausted because Mr. H. had the radio on when he was showering early this morning and woke me up to AC/DC. >-( I've been listening to AIC to drown that out, but I could handle listening to "Brains"! Then I had to stay up and wait for this guy to show up and I have a massive headache and my vision is still blurry so I'm still wearing my glasses a lot. It's kind of cool because I have 4 or 5 pair, and I get to change them to match my clothing... :P I cut the tip of my index finger w/a scissors yesterday while trimming my bald bonsai. Blood on the kitchen floor and all over. It took a lot to stop the bleeding and I've gone thru a ton of steri-strips. I'm out of them. I hope it doesn't start up again, as it starts up on and off. I may need a stitch or two. I hope not. Bleah... I'm signing off now before my puter dumps this post as well!!! I need to get some sleep!!!!!!

The Silence is Deafening...
OK, so the construction bizzos left Thursday night. Concrete dust is still all around, however. This is going to be a short short post, as my eyes are blurry and my ears are ringing... dunno why. I've been super tired l8ly too. So the construction dudes did a great job, but we can't put everything away because the concrete has to cure. We have to have concrete poured on the driveway as well. Zeros had some sort of breakdown and hid in a closet the entire week. He's just coming out of his shock now. Then when the workers left, the cats had to sleep in the garage because of the wet concrete. Kuroneko loved it... (More stuff to stick his nosy snoot into.) Zeros HATED it. Now they're back in the basement at night. I just wish everything was put back together. I can't do any of it because of asthma. I had 2 attacks the last couple days just from concrete dust that got blown in the air upstairs. Dusting will have to be done. YAY...
There have been some complications switching over to XP. Like not being able to switch over Outlook EXPRESS, among some other things. It looks like I'm going to be stuck w/this mess of 98 for a little while longer. I am soooo sick of all the glitches in this puter...
Ohhh... I'm sure I have plenty more to post about, but I'm just too damned tired. I have to sleep.... *zzzzzzzz*

AAAAACK!!!!!!!!!!
Listening to jackhammers run in your basement for hours REALLY sucks! I don't know what I was thinking... that these guys were going to melt the concrete away? I don't even think they've done the driveway yet, and I think they probably have about 4 more hours of running the jackhammer at least. I hope no more than that... *sobs* I got up @ 5:30am and I'm really tired and I can't take a nap... Other than the jackhammers, there's the usual sounds of a construction crew. It's a little after 12:00, so I hope they take a lunch break now... for about 2 days... I'll be glad when it's done tho. Zeros the Wimp, is hiding in the computer room closet and has been since these guys arrived, even tho the workers don't even come upstairs, and Kuroneko has been trying to take a nap, but not succeeding so well w/all the noise. Mr. H. and I have been watching a few episodes of "Kolchak the Nightstalker" on SciFi this morning. (Really LOUD!) I remember that series from when I was a kid and I loved it! (It's from the 70s you yunguns!)
I still haven't switched to XP... The way things are going it won't be happening for a couple of days. Or the weekend.
Someone's smoking down there! Like I need to smell that when I just quit!!! >-( GRRRRR!!!!!
We're bringing my car in to the shop so they can fix whatever is making it sound like screeching birds when it's first started and for the first few minutes after. Probably a belt. Well, they're still going w/the jackhammer. Maybe they're not taking lunch until later, or *gasp* working in shifts so someone is on the hammer the whole time!? Aighhhhh!!!! I'm going insane now... I think I'll go and eat a bottle of Valium for lunch...

Chirp Chirp...
So I ate like a bird last night. For those who don't know, let me explain. Whales don't eat so much relative to their size. However, birds eat several times their weight in food every day. Last night's dinner: 1/2 large Pizza Hut pizza, thick crust (no cheese), a bunch of chocolate truffle thangs for dessert. Snack before bed: 2 more pieces of pizza and more truffles and little Nestle Crunch thangs. Needless to say, I'm not really hungry this morning... "MOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" ... I mean "Chirp chirp!"

My Bonsai Is Bald...
My bonsai is bald. It's going dormant and looks goofy. Oh well... What's news here... I had to go to Chicago yesterday to see my neurologist (headache clinic). My appt. was at 10:30am. She didn't get to me until 12:30pm! AAAACK! If I wasn't so tired I would have gone ballistic, but I just sat there in a stupor, not having had my usual triple iced mocha. (I'm having one right now, BTW...) If I was closer to home, I would NEVER have waited that long! I would have left after 45 minutes or so, because that's about when my "boil over and rant" level starts. If I had a CLUE when I was going to be called back, we could have gone to Lincoln Park, which is about 1/2 block away, and just spent time there. (My mom was with me.) I hate these yearly appointments that you have to go to in order to get scripts.
The basement waterproofers are finally coming on Monday! I am going to be happy when it's done, but I'm not thrilled about 3 days of noise and digging up the yard and concrete all around the house. Plus my kitties are total wusses, and will have to stay upstairs, but I WON'T bring their litter boxes up here. They will have to go to the basement for that. I really love the covered boxes w/the charcoal filters that we got for them. Which reminds me, I have to clean them after I'm done w/this... "Scissors cuts paper! I win! IIIIIII WIN!" *sings* "I'll be cleaning the liiitter box! I'll be cleaning the liiitter box!" <--I hate that commercial more than just about any commercial I've ever seen in my LIFE!!! Whoever came up w/that ad should be drawn and quartered... (Is that extreme? Still PMSing! :P )
Mr. H. is coming home tonight after being gone for the week. I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing him. Plus he's the one who cleans the litter boxes usually, so I won't have to do it anymore! He will be off until next Thursday so he'll be here for the waterproofing, should he be needed. Plus, he damned well needs a break! He's been working 15 hr. days, so I suppose he'll be really tired, which means he'll snore tonight... >-/
My biggest crisis right now: My subwoofer isn't working! I don't know if I inadvertently hit a button and turned it off, or if it's dead. It would be easier if we didn't need 20 remotes to run the stereo. All this techie crap! I can't STAND not having a subwoofer! (I'm a bassy kind o' girl.) When Mr. H. get's home, I'm going to have him check that out right away.
Time to go! *sings* "IIII'm cleaning the liiitter box! IIII'm cleaning the liiitter box!"

WHACKOS...
...I was eating my salad at one of my usual haunts when I noticed him from across the room standing by the cash register. He was a very handsome man to be sure. Our eyes met. Then I realized he was staring at me because I was shoving a huge chunk of cucumber and a large piece of onion into my mouth and still had the fork jammed in my mouth, looking like the slob of the joint... *sigh* <---Narrative from "Hype's Friday Lunch". Typical Hype situation...
I'm coming to you direct from Mr. H.'s puter because mine's... er... broke. It looks to be on and unable to be turned off, however the monitor is black and won't turn on except to say something about "no signal". Unfortunately, Mr. H. won't be back for a few days to look at it, so I have to use his puter until then. I HATE his keyboard. It's a normal old keyboard and mine's an ergo, and when you're used to an ergo, a regular keyboard sucks.
The PGA blew out of town last night. I never really watched golf before but caught some on TV over the weekend, being more interested because it was just a few minutes north of us. Tiger Woods did crummy and did nothing but complain and blame everyone else for his mess ups. I caught the end where the final 3 way tie was broken and Vijay Singh won it. That guy has class. (Not to mention he's very nice looking and a dentist's dream... great smile and the whitest teeth you ever saw. It's not a TV illusion either 'cause Mr. H. worked w/him last month. His teeth really are that white.) So it was actually interesting and Mr. H. and I are going to go to the Whistling Straights restaurant one of these days to check the place out.
OK, my biggest complaint of the weekend: The "Anti-Abortion Mobile". (Further to be referred to as the AAM.) This is NOT a rant for either side of the issue. It's about tact... or lack thereof, crudeness, and inflamatory actions. Not to mention just plain grossness. On the way to the restaurant Friday, we got behind the AAM, which is a red white and blue bus, (CA plates and a bumper sticker for some whacko no one ever heard of for president... Can we all say RIGHT WING RIGHT TO LIFE WHACKOS!?) Let me state that I don't think right to life people are whackos. It's the right wingers who are nuts. This vehicle had 2 huge flags on top, one Amcn, the other the Right Wing Anti Abortion Whacko Flag? It was COVERED in graphic shots of "partial birth" abortions. HUGE pics... Back and sides. We were lucky enough to see the sides because they proceeded to drive up and down the street in front of the restaurant we were eating at... a street with tons of restaurants, for a LONG TIME. The AAM was disgusting enough, but to keep driving it up and down the street w/the most restaurants at lunch time was just obnoxious. Inflamatory actions such as those are most likely to turn people off than to make anyone sympathetic to their cause. It also had lovely slogans such as "Planned Parenthood are murderers and butchers". I think helping to prevent unplanned pregnancy, which is the main goal of PP, is a help to their cause, but never mind that. I was so angry that when we left the restaurant, had that vehicle passed me by when I was at a distance away, I was going to flip them off, and had they been at the stop sign in front of me, I was going to go up to them and give them a piece of my mind. Had I been DRIVING, I probably would have cut them off, stopped my car in the road, and then gone and given them a piece of my mind. This again has nothing to do with whether you're right to life or right to choose. It's about tact and common decency. Reminds me of those whackos (that word is really filling this rant!), who shoot doctors because they perform abortions and then claim they value the sanctity of life... WHACKOS!!!

So I Talk In My Sleep...
I'm too lazy to blog much of anything, so just this: Mr. H. got home from work tonight and asked how Gilligan's Island was last night. I'm like, "what?" And he said it was the funniest thing ever: He was up in the middle of the night and I was talking in my sleep. Apparently I said "Jim Backus. Jim Backus... You know... the millionaire from Gilligan's Island". And then I proceeded to SING "The millionairrre and his wiiiife...", from the opening song. Mr. H. said he wished he had a tape recorder for that.
So all you people who analyze dreams? Analyze THAT!

Brains Brains It's OK... We're Not Usin' Em' Anyway...
Where to start...
We had a really nice weekend at Pine Ridge. It is GORGEOUS! The building we stayed in is bigger than our house and it's rustic, but plush, so to speak, and out in the woods. (Could do w/out the skeeters outside tho...) Jakl was cute as ever! And I forgot my camera! *cries* I only wish we could have stayed longer, as Saturday it was cloudy so we stayed in. Didn't go boating either because of the weather, etc. The view was like being in a treehouse. Really great. TONS of bats! They flew off before I got to the window to see them (it was dark), but I heard a few of them. That place is booked like crazy... They only have two 2 day periods the rest of the year. My bro-in-law got bored on Sat. and went for a ten mile walk in the woods. He came back with tons of horseflies stuck in his hair and bloody skeeter bites and then was upset because of the smell of the Yard Guard we put outside the screen door because Jakl was going in and out. One of those outdoor types...
Mr. H. is livid, as the basement waterproofers cancelled on our machine after we left on Fri. They were supposed to be here yesterday thru tomorrow and Mr. H. took those days off, so he's pissed. Now they say they're going to be here in 2 weeks... They better be because our house is in disarray because of all this crap.
Why is it that the boots I always find in catalogs that I like are over $800?
The PGA is in town @ Whistling Straights. All hotels w/in an hour's radius are booked, plus lots of people w/big mansion type homes have rented them out for the week. (No, that does not include us...) Tiger Woods was at a pizza place we go to and take out from often, but that was when we were gone. Another PGA dude was there and tipped $86. Not half bad. They have PGA shirts online, and, get this, you can't order them if you live w/in 100 miles of here! They're sending them all over the world. I ordered one and had it sent to my sister who will then mail it to me.
I don't know why I did that anyhoo, 'cause I'm not a golf fan. I guess because the PGA won't be here for another 12 yrs. or so. One of my old roomies tried to teach me to golf, but he was left handed and I wasn't. Didn't work. Then there was the "Mini-golf Statistical Anomaly":
Mr. H. and I decided to play mini-golf before going to MKE to see a band. There is a batting cage relatively close to the mini-golf course, but it's netted in except for ONE spot the size where a baseball can barely get thru. I was standing there thinking to myself, "Wow, that would be weird to get hit by a golf ball", when I got nailed in the head w/a baseball from the batting cage that managed to get thru that one small hole. Thankfully the ball was rubber covered, however it hurt like HELL!!! Not to mention the humiliation! ACK! So I have never gone on a REAL golf course... I take the mini-golf thang as an omen I guess...
FYI... The Asian Beetles are back... >-(

Outta Here!!!
We're packing to get going today. This is where we're staying. The luxury version. Looks pretty nice and relaxing... Thank God we have our own room, because it's necessary to have some "away from the Jaklynator" time! I'm really looking forward to seeing her though! I'm getting her a cool balloon. She'll like that. We'll be there until Sunday. Mr. H. went grocery shopping and we really don't know what to bring because breakfast is taken care of, and we're more used to going to restaurants or having room service. My sis and fam are doing dinner tonight, and tomorrow night we're going out I think, so we just need lunch junk. It's hard for me to think ahead foodwise. As I said in the past, I'm one to grab cold corn on the cob out of the fridge and eat two of them over the sink... There's dinner for me... :P
I am concerned about BUGS! I'm bringing Off and Yard Guard, and maybe some heavy duty stuff too. Hope there are lots of bats down there! Unfortunately any time the TV is on, we'll be watching Dora, or Tigger, or Blues Clues. They may have ROTK if they got it from their neighbor, which would be cool... (subtitles and breaks!) Although not smoke breaks anymore. I still jones sometimes, but it will be 2 months next Wed.! WOW! I'm excited about my lungs turning pink again!
It seems like Saturday. It seemed like Saturday yesterday...

Clarification... AGAIN!!! >-(
I lost my entire post, so I'll try again... GRRRR!!! Just to clarify, I am NOT going camping! I deplore camping! I haven't camped since I was a child, and it was always so cold that we had to wear our winter jackets w/our sleeping bags, or there was a lighthouse and fog horn on a foggy night about 100 yds away, or drunk bikers shooting off guns randomly right next to us. Not to mention the no plumbing thing. A family friend always said, "It's not a vacation unless the accommodations are better than your own home." I agree w/that entirely! This place is a resort where we have our own building, it sleeps 8, several bedrooms, bath and 1/2, fireplace, kitchen, TVs, central air, etc., and it's right on a lake for boating and fishing. It sounds like the place my sis's fam went in Sept. last year, only nicer. Mr. H. and I want to get there first so we can get the master bedroom w/the attached bath... Muahahaha!!!
Today is Mr. H.'s last day of work until his 1/2 day Wed. He has been working his ass off. He got up at 2:30am yesterday to be @ work @ 4:00am, and got home @ 9:00pm. No overtime because his bosses decided that if you take paid vacation and don't actually work that time, what's normally OT is regular time. And his bosses are sooooooo poor... *rolls eyes into back of head*...
Happy B-Day Byrds, ya old geezer! :D I think it's today? Or tomorrow? But I probably won't be able to post tomorrow, so just as well. Do you get discount cake or free cake? Hope it's a good one, my child... *snicker*
OK, does anyone know if there is some massive terror alert in NYC? I saw something posted on the Jinx board, and since I've been too slack to watch the news l8ly, I have no clue. Someone clue me in. I watched the news this morn, but heard nothing of it...
The big T-Storms missed us. I kind of want one today, because I just want to hear my NOAA radio go off for the first time. :D It's only 68 deg here!
Grim is on for 4 hrs today... I'll watch/listen to that in the background while I do my laundry and all my other junk today. So if anyone has nothing to do, Grim is on until 3pm CST! :-)
I'm exhausted... too much espresso. I guess I shouldn't be drinking tripple iced mochas at 9:00pm... Must... sleep... *zzzzz*

If My Eyes Don't Deceive Me There's Something Goin' Wrong Around Here...
Cat issues: Mr. H. went to the pet shop finally and bought covered cat boxes... the kind w/the filters on top, and since Zeros doesn't know how to pee right (he won't put his butt down), we don't have to clean up pee all over the place anymore! He also bought a water dish that runs sort of like a fountain. Sounds like a waste of cash, but the boys are always dumping out our dehumidifiers and drinking the water that comes out... Plus they chew on the floats... They go to the vet next week and I'm quite sure we'll be told how fat they are. We don't overfeed them at all. They're big. No one can believe they just turned one. We still have our old cat's ashes and we still need to get a tree to plant and put the ashes under. We're going to commemorate him w/a tree. :-)
Lessee... Friday we leave until Sunday for that cabin/resort place. You have to bring your own food. It sounds like the cabins are separated (ie: no room service :-/ ). There's fishing and whatnot. I hope my sister wears out the Jaklynator before we get there! At least Mr. H. and I have our own room. I'm going to bring a big helium balloon for Jakyl, because balloons are about her favorite thing. I think this place is in a forest, so I'm going to bring several types of bug spray... (Wish I had some bats to take along, but maybe they have some there?) After that, 3 days of basement waterproofers... Yippee skippee... At least Mr. H. will have 7 days off in a row!
I need a new espresso maker... and more espresso...
