Happy Halloween... Today We Find Out Who Will Be President!
Happy Halloween everyone! We had our trick or treating here last night, and we ran out of candy twice. That's rare!
OK, now today we find out who our next president will be! In 74 years, this has NEVER failed to predict the next president. If the Redskins win today, the incumbant wins, (IE: Bush) BOOOO!!! They play the Packers today, so if the Packers win, Kerry will be our next president! I'm rooting for the Packers like crazy today!!! Although I don't know that I'll watch them, 'cause there's a Grimm marathon on... heheheheh! A little Halloween quiz:
Knock, knock. It definitely is not hollow in there. You have a strong mind of your own, and you are a protector of others. You think of them before yourself, and you make sure everything is okay around you. If you don't think that something is right, you will say so. You may tend to speak your mind a lot. You enjoy being there for the ones you care about, and as previously stated, you give them protection. Those are very good traits, but remember to think of yourself once in a while as well. Happy Halloween, Iron Shield.

Happy Halloween Weekend!
Oh I have a lot of blah blah to blog about, but I have so much shit to do here that I have no time. Someone in my city won $1mil in the McDonalds game. They got Boardwalk and Parkplace. Now how come I never even get a game piece?! It's an eeeee-villl plot to keep me po'! Other than that, and the fact that Mr. H. and I will have eaten all the trick or treat candy before Sunday, (a tradition, then we run out and get crappy stuff 'cause that's all that's left...) :P , not too much more I want to get into...
I saw Control Room yesterday and it was amazing. I loved it. The miscommunication that goes on between cultures is amazing. And the US media spins a bit more than Al-Jazeera, if you can believe it. At least that was my conclusion at the end. I used to think of Al-Jazeera and their reporters as evil meat puppets, but no more. Just people like us. I believe the world is in a shambles and going to fall apart in our lifetime. (Or maybe I'm hoping that so I don't have to pay any charge card bills?)
Have a wicked Halloween!!!

~Sad News~
I've just been informed that Razz died Tuesday morning from burns he received in an accident. I can certainly relate because of my father-in-law's recent death by burning. I have no details regarding what kind of accident, but this is sad news indeed. He's been around online as long as I have, and all of us knew him. My condolences to everyone, especially Prpl, and let's keep his family and Prpl in our thoughts and prayers...

I Done Broke My Brain... (Or had it eaten by a brain eating meteor...)
Oh man. This is about the stupidest thing I've ever done. (OK, one of the many.) I got in my car to drive to GB about 45 min. ago and it wouldn't start at all. No turn over, no nothing. I'm getting all upset about having it towed and talking to my dad on the phone about what might be wrong w/it. For the hell of it, I decided to go back and check to see if I left the lights on and drained the battery, because I have NEVER done that. I left the lights on. EIGHT DAYS AGO!!! The car was in the garage, so I never noticed. The battery was completely drained. Thankfully as I figured this out, our next door neighbor was coming out of his house and he's a part time mechanic at a local shop so he ran and got a battery pack and jumped it. It's now running and will be running for about 45 min. in the driveway, then I have to drive it around for about ten minutes, park it back in the garage, and run it a half hour or so in the driveway again tomorrow. AAACK! What a waste of gas. I cannot believe I did that. I've just never done that!
Speaking of cars, call me sheltered, but at the Kohler Food & Wine Experience, for the first time in my life I saw an actual Lamborghini. Two as a matter of fact. Brand new, one white, one red. FIB plates, so I assume they were from Chicago. Just parked right on the street where any drunk from one of the wine demos could smack it. It must have been a couple, because they were identical. Yeah, I'm waiting for the day Mr. H. & I have matching million dollar cars, and are blase' enough about it to just park them on the street. My head did the exorcist thang when I saw the first one. I would venture to bet that NO ONE in WI owns a Lambo. One of them had a vanity plate that said "Kwikee", and my mom says, "They shouldn't have a plate like that because then the cops will know it's a fast car." OK, that's more brain dead than me! Me: "Yeah mom, every cop on the road would have mistaken it for a 4 cylinder Toyota if it weren't for the license plate." Doh! Lambos always been my fav cars. I used to have a poster of a Countache (sp), black, when I was in college. Back when I dreamed that I'd own something like that one day... hahahahaha!
Instead, my Chevy is running in the driveway, draining the gas tank, powering up because I left the lights on for eight days... Maybe there was something to that meteor I met two weekends ago... You know, the shy one... And I have such an urge to sing and dance...

~I'd Be In Bed If It Weren't For The Music~
On crappy weather: You know those days when it's so horrible out (ie: rainy, windy, ugly, cold), that you don't want to bother getting out of bed? Sure you do! That's the kind of day it is right now. The only way I can get anything done, (ie: actually get out of bed), is by cranking some rockin' tunes. I'm currently listening to Agent Orange's version of "Pipeline"... loud. If that doesn't wake you up, you're probably dead. So I'm not dead! Yay for me!
On home improvement: We had our driveway concrete re-poured this week from when the waterproofers broke it up. They were supposed to come back yesterday and cut the lines, and they didn't. They also left a big pile of concrete at the end of the driveway on the lawn (?!). Well, they're going to be taking that with them! This coming week we have insulators coming... Woohoo! No turning on the central air when it's 40 degrees out because it's 78 inside!!! Then the waterproofers are coming to cut a hole in a duct in the basement. I've decided I don't like this construction crap. The guy who inspected our home prior to us buying it should be shot for telling us everything was OK. Especially the basement. He should at least have to pay for everything that has had to be done. And if he can't pay, THEN he should be shot.
On my nation: Well, it's kind of going semi-down hill, but it's only temporary. My goal is to be an evil dictator like Flemmy!!! Of course I've chosen the more evil choices on the issues than Flem. Flemmy, you're not an EVIL dictator, just a dictator. Grimmy's an EVIL dictator. You have to read my nation Flem, and you'll see how evil it is. Some of the more nasty stuff isn't on there anymore... like shooting poets in the park for fun, etc. My citizens are barcoded and we take newborns and train them as killing machines for defense purposes. All of this costs money tho, so my y tax keeps going up. My nation was Thriving and is now only Strong, because I'm spending too much. Maybe no one in my nation (Hyperslackovicznia) cares because the most popular drink in the country is "Mountain Doobage" heheheheh!!! Byrds should get a nation... doesn't take much time at all!!!!
On a 'geistless puter: I like my new HD, but I did lose hundreds of e-mails which contained a LOT of account and p/ws and every picture anyone ever sent to me, not to mention, well, I mentioned and pissed and moaned about it all so I'll spare you. I'm still getting used to it and still have to figure out how to stop half these programs from kicking in at startup. I tried the obvious, but it didn't work. This weekend Mr. H. is going to put up the new monitor, so everything will match. :D
Tomorrow I'm going to the Kohler Food & Wine experience w/my mom and mother in law (to be abbreviated as moila from now on). We're seeing Dean Fearing, who is supposed to be the Tex-Mex king, and he's won a bunch of awards and such. Mr. H. is working the entire show from yesterday until tomorrow night. Needless to say, he's NOT hungry when he gets home. Him and the American Club audio/visual dudes go up to the stage/kitchen after every show and eat everything the chefs make! Then he comes home and opens a book and says, "You have to make THIS!" I look at it, and it looks good, however, getting all the ingredients wouldn't be that easy, plus it has about 2 billion and 4 grams of fat! After the show, we'll go to the places where they have samples of tea that they don't sell except for during this event. They have some foods (I tried an escargot last year... ummm... YUCK!). If I can find some good Japanese green tea, I think I'll get some. And afterward I'm dragging mom and moila to Olive and Ash for some good wine. It's a cigar bar w/leather couches and such. I'm looking forward to a nice shiraz. They're also having cigar rolling demonstrations. They had that last year too. Maybe I'll have a cigar too. I haven't had one in years. My humador has some excellent cigars in it, and I haven't had one in eons! *Picturing dirty looks coming from my mother! heheheheheh!)* This event is sponsored by Food & Wine magazine. I know they usually have a lot of demonstrations by world famous chefs and "wine dudes". Many have shows on the Food Network. (Sorry, no Rachel Ray!)
I went on AIM yesterday during the day and in the evening. I have to say I enjoyed myself a LOT. I spoke to several people I haven't talked to in a very long time. But where was the Flemster last night? >-( The one night I get online and he's conspicuously missing. hmmm...
Also, let me add that Cat is far geekier than I. I may play a geeky card game, but so does he and I don't list my cards on my blog or go to geeky conventions! So, Catboy: HA! (BTW, I won my match against Mr. H. last night!)
Time for my protein bar. God, someone please invent a protein bar that doesn't taste like a protein bar. It's the best way for me to get calories and a decent amount of protein in the morning, but I trade that off for feeling nauseous after. All protein things: protein bars, protein drinks, etc. They ALL taste like protein, no matter what "flavor" they're supposed to be, they're all PROTEIN FLAVORED!!!

Sorry for my rant yesterday. My new puter isn't THAT bad. It's faster anyhoo... I just can't get any of my old e-mail and everything is weird on this one. I HATE MY NEW COMPUTER!!!!
I HATE MY NEW COMPUTER!!!! I've lost ALL my Outlook Express, (which isn't lost, it's stuck in a USB but can't be retrieved and Mr. H. considers that NOT LOST!) I'm so mad at him right now I could scream! I've lost every e-mail I saved for the past year in my file, and I've lost every other file and e-mail I saved, (that would be hundreds), including letters from my very close deceased friend. I'm LIVID! Plus I have 2 Dr. appts. in GB, a severe infection where my belly button piercing is... (I mean SEVERE! And that's not why I'm going to the Dr. in the first place!). I'm sitting here w/a half assed puter, w/a bunch of shit that pops up when I don't want it to and about 10 more stupid-ass icons on the screen... Toolbar icons I can't get rid of and icons I can't get on the bars. Programs that are LOST! I'm stuck w/Outlook 98 because nothing at ALL will transfer to the new Express. Mr. H. didn't install any of the new programs and I'm sick of it! We've been fighting since last night. I told him NOT to do this until I figured out the e-mail thing, but he went ahead and did it and then blames ME! He's going out of town tomorrow for 2 days. Can't wait. I don't want to see him for a while I'm so pissed. This is probably the most pissed off we've been at each other, and I've had it!
I had a protein bar an hour ago and now I feel like I'm going to throw up. I'm going to go and be royally pissed off all day now. Have a good fucking day!

~~Quizzy Friday~~
Guess I got a red thing going...
You are the color red. You are the most controversial of all the colors. You are often easily angered, but as easily as you got excited, you come down. When angered, do you have the tendency to be malicious? Afterwards, do you end up begging for forgiveness? Maybe. But you're incredibly generous, and, odd enough, needy. You love to hate, and sometimes, you hate to love. This color describes you as generally edgy. When in a bad situation, you're pessimistic, and when you're in a good situation, you're extremely optimistic. You're painfully tempermental, and sometimes it hurts the ones you love. But with an exciting and stimulating attitude, you enjoy talking to people and being social. But aside from your bold and outgoing attitude, you're attention-needing and attention-getting. This color is associated with lust and desire--and you are both lust and desirous. You're a protective person when it comes to the people you love. You're incredibly sharp-witted and powerful (not to mention intelligent!).

~~Half Day Closing~~
Listening to: Portishead, "Half Day Closing"
My cats yelling @ me because we cut their food back.
Watching: The screen blur and double on and off. :P
My cats are getting a little less food and I'm sick of the "Is that all we get?" look they keep giving us when we feed them. And then they yell because we don't pour it fast enough for them. Mind you they're FAT! Zeros looks like a black fuzz ball w/little legs when he goes down the stairs. He'll rue the day the momentum from his butt forces it over his head and he somersaults all the way down the stairs. I've been giving them more nip sort of to fill in for the lesser food. As a matter of fact, I may go get some when I'm done blogging as we're running out. I wonder if it gives the kittyboyz the munchies the way pot does? Hmmmmm? Hope not! We still can't have them upstairs w/out the tree thing (It's called a Dragon something... At least "dragon" is in the name! :D ), and it's definitely a desertish plant. I think I already watered it too much. Two times, and one leaf already turned totally yellow, so I'm praying that there is no root rot. When I was at the salon last week they had one and one of the girls had one at home and over watered it and it died of root rot. At this point, all the lower leaves are chewed up... >-( Why can't cat's learn? I take that back. They do learn... They just don't CARE! They do the same naughty stuff over and over despite getting the squirtgun in the face.
I'm facing a music crisis as my Jazz Butcher "Bloody Nonsense" CD is GONE. The case is here, but inside is a blank CD! I'm trying to get ahold of the person who recorded it for me but he is ill, so I don't know when I'll get a copy. I'm listening to a complilation of music that was done w/old technology around 1996 or 95 or 97? ... ahh... somewhere in the hazy 90s. It's really eclectic. (Although it doesn't begin w/Wagner like my 2nd compilation from that time period! heheheh!) It has everything from Nirvana, to Agent Orange, War, Chem. Bros., Iggy, Ministry, Peter Murphy, Chili Peppers, Oingo Boingo, Offspring, and more, and ends with a rousing "Joxer the Mighty", from Xena! (For you Xena fans, you know it's a hysterical tune!) ;D
This blurred vision thing is getting annoying, not to mention could be dangerous if I was doing anything dangerous. Perhaps I won't chop veggies for the primavera sauce I was going to make for dinner. I HATE chopping veggies w/a passion, but to hack off a finger in the process would make me DESPISE chopping for life even more, if that's possible. It's bad enough that I ruin my nails just about every time.
It's been in the low 50's today... Pushing 78 degrees in the house earlier so I've had to have the air on all day. We need insulation bigtime.
AACK! This CD is messed up... gonna have to re-record... BLAH.
I gotta go eat dinner! I'm starving! Organic salad and chili con carne! (Which always reminds me of Hector Con Carne... heheheheh!)

I Got A Head With Wings...
I'm currently listening to a brilliant CD by a brilliant band... "The Night" by Morphine. They're an amazing band. NO ONE sounds like them. They are truly alternative. A lot of bass and sax. Very different. However, some of their music can sometimes give you a knot in your stomach. Even w/out the lyrics, the music is so gut wrenching. It's beautiful and seems to hit you where you live. Most of the lyrics have deep meaning, however some are just goofy. I recommend it to EVERYONE who wants to hear something different from anything they've ever heard. They're musically different from anything I've ever heard before, and I've heard virtually all genres, including weird crap like "outlander music". Unfortunately Morphine is no longer a band as the lead singer/bassist, died several years ago from cancer. The music will stick with you bigtime! Especially after listening to it a few times...
ANYWAY... I found my wedding ring! Thank God! It was somewhere I looked, but not well enough, I guess. It was jammed between the mattresses from when I was tucking in sheets while making the bed. I'm not wearing any of my rings until I can get them shrunk.
Let's see... I had "Janet Leigh" syndrome this morning... you know... when you shave your legs and you look at the drain and it looks worse than the psycho shower scene? Bleah... And my current rant: deodorant that's clear and supposed to stay clear but as soon as you wear anything dark, (like the black tank top I'm wearing), white still comes off on your clothes. >-( The corporation that truly makes a CLEAR CLEAR deodorant will be successful indeed.
It's been hot here the past two days, and the Asian beetles are coming back. I HATE THEM SO MUCH!!! They aren't as bad as last year, but I don't like having to carry a can of Raid everywhere I go! They ALWAYS bite me. Bugs are attracted to me... I always get bit. >-( And Asian beetle bites hurt! It's like being pinched.
Last year when our cat died we had him cremated and I wanted to plant a tree over his ashes as a memorial and as a circle of life thing... (some of the ash being absorbed into the roots of the plant, feeding and becoming part of the plant). We still have yet to do it. When we were making arrangements for Mr. H.'s dad's funeral, etc., @ the funeral home, it was decided that his ashes would be scattered different places that he really liked. I suggested the tree idea w/some of his ashes under it, circle of life thing, etc. The funeral home director never HEARD of that idea and he thought it was the greatest idea ever. So did the rest of the fam. Now I don't know if other people do that or if I just made it up, but it went over really well. The funeral home director was just stunned! (In a good way.) So this Sunday we're going out to Mr. H.'s mom's. She's on 30-40 acres. We're going to plant a tree w/some of his ashes under it as a memorial, like I suggested. I just think it's a great idea. We're doing well at this point. It will be rough for my mother in law next week when she's home alone way out there, so we're going to be going out there a lot and having her over a lot. She's starting back to work on Monday. She works at a bakery. Mr. H. and I are doing well. We still have to move the potted tree thing (which isn't a palm, but looks like one, but is actually more of a dessert plant), into the bedroom every time the boys are up or they eat it. :P Dorks.
I get to take them to the vet tomorrow and watch everyone faint when they see how big/fat they've gotten. They're only a little over one year old! We don't over feed them. Sheesh. Couple of lardos!
Anyhoo, I suppose I should go and do... something? I'm the ultimate slacker! heheheh! Not by choice, and I want people to know that! lol! I'd LOVE to have a job right now, but I'd fall asleep! I have to make some phone calls regarding more home improvements... Yippeeeeee!!! Wow... my eyes are all blurry... guess I'll have to wear glasses today... Hmmm... Which pair? ;P

PANIC TIME!!! :-O
Short version... I'll get to blogs l8r or tomorrow. I was really illin' (headache, nausea) yesterday, and the usual cured the nausea. That being a huge order of McDonald's french fries. NOTHING works better for nausea!! (Not vomiting mind you!) Works every time for me. (Doesn't help a headache much...)
I'M PANICKING BECAUSE I LOST MY WEDDING RING!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!! I've looked EVERYWHERE for it. I had it on this morning and it fell off my finger somewhere. *sobs* I have GOT to find it! I looked in the washing machine even! I knew I needed to have it shrunk because it's fallen off a couple times recently, but I didn't think it would fall off w/out me noticing. I'm really upset about this. Until it's found, no garbage will be thrown out! Bleah! *sobs more*

~The Funeral... And Other Less Depressing Things~
Salutations everyone. We've been busy w/the funeral and everything that goes with it. I didn't make it to the visitation the night before, but I made it to the visitation prior to the funeral as they had two. It's too bad, as there were hundreds of people there the night I couldn't go. I'm never very good at funerals, but I didn't do too badly at this one. No worse than anyone else. The funeral was held at the funeral home, which I preferred rather than a church. When I walked in, they had a huge board w/pics of Ron (my father in law), and I started crying really hard at that point. By the time I got over that, I visited w/the other relatives. Mr. H. has the hugest family ever! We sat in the front row, as we were family. They had a casket covered w/a flag and a police officer in formal uniform on each side during the whole ceremony. It was kind of neat, because they allowed people to go up and talk about Ron and how he affected their lives. Some went up and told funny stories, which was neat. Kind of a break in the sadness. What NO ONE expected was what happened at the end. On the side in front there is a door leading outside. We weren't far from the door. All of a sudden the two police men left, very formally and two marines, (judging from their dress uniforms and bars, high ranking marines), came in and each grabbed a side of the flag to do the folding. Then there was a 21 gun salute outside the door, and the saddest sound in the whole world... Taps. There wasn't a dry eye in the funeral home. The marines folded the flag formally and gave it to Mr. H.'s mother. Taps will get you every time. Even the really "manly" guys were sobbing. Ron will be cremated and his ashes are going various places. After the funeral there was a buffet at a restaurant a couple blocks away. It was nice as I saw some people I haven't seen in a long long time. We all found out things about Ron we didn't even know about. I had no idea he was state Judo champion in 1981, beating his teacher even! And I could go on about the hysterical stories regarding the things he did on the police force! (Typical stuff... Naked guy w/chainsaw... etc.!) He also did save many lives. He was a triathalete and a good one, which I think I mentioned. We also took comfort knowing that the book we got him for his b-day just days before the accident, he read straight thru in 4 hrs in one afternoon. Mr. H.'s mother gave us the book to remember him by and because I have an interest in that stuff, but THIS is WAYYYY over my head as far as I can tell. (The entire universe described in 6 numbers... not NORMAL numbers either. They are symbolized by bizarre symbols... some Greek, some... I don't know.... Klingon?) We both liked astronomy, Hawking, etc. I'm glad he got to read it. I wish I could load some pics on here. We have a floral arrangement from the funeral home that was given by one of our good fiends... (the one who teased me for not making him a big breakfast when he stayed over!), a shell from the gun salute and of course the program. The flower arrangement matches a ceramic angel I have so I set it all up there and took some pics. Also, we're all going to have a bench w/Ron's name put on the public boardwalk on the river/lake in remembrance.
Our dining room now looks like a tropical rain forest. We have a potted palm, (actually I think there are 4 in there!) as tall as me, and also another Peace Lily about 3 ft. tall. Plus my computer boxes, etc. We're having some trouble keeping the boys from eating the plants so Mr. H. is putting them in the bedroom and closing the door every time they come up. lol!
Things are mellowing out now. We've figured after some studying of the site, that Ron was unconscious when he burned. Thank God. We all do feel he's in a better place now, which is somewhat comforting as well.
GTG... Time to play geeky cards w/Mr. H.! (A good distraction.) I'll get around to all of your blogs soon!
Again, thanks to all of you for your condolences. It really means a lot.
