Snowstorm...

So we're having a snowstorm. We have a winter storm warning until 6pm. The snow seems to have let up for a while, but we're supposed to get more. It's blowing all over and drifting.

I'm exhausted and still recovering, so today is a good day to sleep. I am going to make cornbread later, provided I am awake.

Not much to report... so... tired...

As usual, a quiz for ya:

~Good Good Things~

Hi Everyone! It's good to be on my own puter again, considering the last one I was logged into was at the hospital prior to surgery. And of course I was going around posting on blogs when they called me in! :P So I had to rush out of Flem's comments... lol!

Anyhoo, last Friday, I had surgery, which sucked. I still feel like shit. Not so much from the surgery as from the raging headache I have had since last night. It's sort of like a wicked anesthetic hangover, I guess, and as usual, I'm just about out of the oxycodone script they gave me, so I'll have to suffer w/the headaches for a while. Of course all this has delayed starting anything for my class and they already billed me for my next class next semester! I'm really glad I started with 1/3 of the class behind me already.

To say I disliked my surgeon is an understatement. He is an excellent surgeon, however he's actually mean. I would have liked to smack him prior to surgery, but I figured it wouldn't be wise to piss off someone who's about to cut you open. I also didn't like my anesthesiologist. He was like a robot talking in a monotone. I HATE healthcare providers who have no "bedside manner", and I dislike it when they throw a fit when you have a concern or two regarding their decisions on meds, etc. because their egos get in the way. UGH! Anyhoo, I only have to see him one more time for follow up (I HOPE!) Then if I ever need surgery again, I won't be going to him!! Oh! The GOOD NEWS: I DON'T HAVE CANCER! WOOHOO! The biopsy came back benign! :D I wasn't going to post if it turned out the other way, but this is good news, so, cool enough!

Ugh! I just got back upstairs from cleaning up a cat related disaster. The little brats pulled the garbage bag out of the kitchen garbage, dragged it down the stairs (spilling all it's contents), and knocking the container down the stairs. The stairs were covered with food and stuff and the boyz were snooting around in the coffee grounds! Oh yeah. They REALLY need caffeine... >-(

More good news! I have a new niece! My sister had her baby yesterday morning. She's the exact same weight and height as the Jaklynator was when she was born. 7 lbs 2 ozs, 20" long. Except the new baby has a lot of hair and Jakl was pretty much bald when she was born. So far, she's NoName. They haven't decided, but Jakl tells everyone her name is Ella. She wants her baby sister to be named Ella after Cinderella, so when she went to visit, she told all the nurses and everyone that the baby's name was Ella. lol!

I have to go rest. I'll get around to other blogs soon, hopefully!

Take the quiz: "Which Planet Do You Belong To?"

Mercury
You are the talkative Mercury! You are intelligent, intuitive, and could talk the hind legs off a donkey! You love to talk and be around people. Make sure when you talk, you don't accidentally hurt someone's feelings.

~Get It Right Dammit!!!~

OK, I wasn't going to post today, but I'm ultra peeved right now. The past two days, I've watched some really good TV. TV shows about topics that interest me immensely. Particularly tsunamis and mega-tsunamis. I also saw a show on sprites, which are a little known type of lightening... very terrifying and only recently filmed. Also, 5 hours of Organized Crime Around the World on History Channel. They had an hour on 5 different countries' syndicates. Also a show on tornados. I've read MANY books on tornados, lightening, tsunamis, and organized crime. I guess I'm a natural disaster freak. (Of course organized crime isn't a natural disaster, but I've still read quite a few books on it and find it fascinating.) So it's been the History Channel and the Discovery Channel for the past couple days.

My complaint: The particular show on tsunamis that is on right now on Discovery, (2nd time I've watched this today, and this particular show, other than the editing adding the recent tsunami, I've seen several times before), is titled TIDAL WAVES! Wha??? And they keep referring to tsunamis as tidal waves! TSUNAMIS ARE NOT TIDAL WAVES!!!! THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH TIDES AND PEOPLE WHO STUDY TSUNAMIS AND THOSE WHO ARE "FANS" (INCLUDING ME), ARE CURRENTLY PULLING OUR HAIR OUT!!!! How could so many of these documentaries make such a blunder!? Ugh! Ack! At least the following "Mega-Tsunami" show refers to them as tsunamis and even states they have nothing to do with tides. Bless them!

However, since I've seen "Mega-Tsunami" several times, and I believe "Megas XLR" is on at the same time, I'll watch Megas, (even tho I'm taping it). We tape it weekly. It's a great show! I'll probably switch back to Mega-Tsus during commercials.

Anyhoo, I DEPLORE when so called reliable sources, (usually reliable sources) make blunders like calling tsunamis tidal waves. I can just feel my blood pressure going up! AAAAh... I should have gone into meteorology like I planned when I was a kid rather than econ... So it goes...

As I said, I probably won't be posting this week as I will be in GB likely the entire week. If I get a chance to come home, I'll post. (I'm staying at my mother's, although she is at my sister's as my sister is going to have her baby any time now, and someone has to attend to the Jaklynator!) I HAVE to be in GB for something medically related, and don't know how long I have to be there. My mother is technophobic and has no puter, so no updates. I see most people aren't updating either, so no biggie. I guess the only post I'll miss is the one I'd post when the Packers beat the Viks! Which reminds me that traffic will suck going to GB tomorrow. >-(

~~Vive La Vida~~

Merry New year everyone! And we can assume, since Flem posted, that he hasn't spun off the Earth. :P I hope everyone had a good New Years Eve and day. New Years Eve, Mr. H. and I went to my mom's and hung out, and ate a lot, and fell asleep before midnight. A far cry from 10-20 years ago! I know if we lived somewhere cool like Vegas (Lucky Jazzy), we'd go out. (I'd force Mr. H. I LOVE to gamble!) Things sure change! Mr. H. had the week off and has to go back to work tomorrow. It's going to be dull around here again. I suppose I could start my homework, since the class started Dec. 12, and I haven't even opened the book. Heheheh... Typical.

I think I gained weight this holiday season. Although when I weighed myself @ my mom's, my weight was ridiculously low. I don't usually pig out, but I sure did this year! I ate twice my daily amount of food. (Having 17 cookies plus chocolates, etc. on top of large meals isn't normal! Like, every day for over a week!)

My resolution this year was to get healthy and try to get back into a normal life, but that was shot down New Years Eve day. I'm starting out the year seeing a surgeon on Tuesday and will have to have some sort of surgery. I'm bummed. I'd like one fucking year where my life doesn't revolve around health problems. *This is where I whine and pity myself... boo hoo* lol! I haven't led a normal life in ten years. I haven't worked at all since 1996. Nor have I gone to school. I think my brain has atrophied! :P I used to work, go to school full time, do things w/friends, every single day. It's been a long time. Well, maybe after the beginning of the year things will be better! :D

Kay sent a pic of her Christmas tree. It's GORGEOUS! My kitties would love to climb it and chew on all the decorations too! We have a 3 foot tree in a gold pot w/the middle lights burnt out already. lol! I also have some fiber optics and icicle lights over the windows indoors and some other decorations. (What is Christmas w/out fiber optics anyway?) We just don't have room for the majority of our decorations in this house. BOO! My sister has 3 full size trees in her house and we can't fit ONE! Ugh...

And of course, a quiz:

dreamer
You represent the dreams in life. You are laid back
and also dream a lot.

What part of life do you represent? ( AWESOME anime pics ^_^)

Well, the "laid back" part is WAY off, but the rest is right on!
