~~Cold Shot~~
Unmotivated... The word for the last 4 months... maybe longer. I just can't seem to force myself to do my homework. I'm going to do some of it today... I'm NOT looking forward to it, obviously. Ade, since you're a Beatlemaniac and my exam is online, perhaps we should IM thru my exam! ;P It's not all Beatles... but the questions on them will be seriously trivial things that only people really into them would know off the top of their head, and people like me will have to study like hell to remember. Dylan is next, then the Stones, and some other various groups. I just don't like the trivial questions on the exams.
We had a lovely snowstorm Sat/Sun. At least it's not all gloomy and wet and rainy. It is melting though. We might get a little snow today. I hope it does!
I'm totally slacking lately. I think a good share of it is medical, and hopefully all will be worked out in a few months. :-) I eventually have to prime and paint the window frames and then do some sanding and paint 2 walls in the living room... I'm not looking forward to moving everything to do this. On one wall we have all our sound equipment and TV, etc. That means about 2000 wires and cords aside from the equipment itself will have to be moved. Bleah...
Thursday thru Tuesday I'm going to my sister's to see the Jaklynator and the new baby, Rachel, whom I haven't seen yet. I'm looking forward to it, except I have to bring my lectures and books >-(

Well, in order to slack some more, I'm going to make more chocolates... get rid of the stuff I have now. I'm making a big Easter basket w/chocolates, etc. I'm going to get more stuff later, like different colored chocolates and different fillings and molds and wrappings. It's a lot of fun. Then I suppose I'll fall asleep for a couple hours... (I can't prevent it...) Then get up and do the homework... IF YA WANNA MAKE NOIZE MAKE NOIZE...

~Sick of the Beatles~
I started catching up on my reading for my class. Borrring... I have to read so much about the Beatles. Minutiae actually. Then Dylan, then the Stones. Sounds simple, however it isn't. Just paying attention to what I'm reading is difficult. I figure I'm not going to put much into this section, take the exam, and then put all my effort into the last section. Then I'm done until summer or fall. I have to see what is available. It also isn't so easy when you can't stay awake! I sleep all the time and I can't help it! (I'm sure Nessa would be jealous, but it isn't so great when you can't do things because you can't stay awake!)
Friday! Yay! Weekend plans: Probably sleeping! :P I wish it would warm up again. I think it is supposed to get warm enough to rain on Sunday. Warm and sunny would be nice.
Our house looks SOOOO tacky from the outside w/a blanket hanging over the three window section. The blinds take 3-4 weeks to get here and I'm not priming or painting the frame until it's warm enough to open the windows and get the fumes out. So until then, we pin up the blanket to let some light in. That's all.

Happy Valentine's Day! / Anger is an Energy!
Been a while. This entry will probably get wordy. (Big surprise!)
First of all Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Or, as in college, the day I celebrated the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. I think it's important to celebrate important events in history. For anyone interested, there is a 2 hr. St. V. Day Massacre special at 9pm CST on the History Channel. It's important to know your Chicago Mob history, I always say!
Truth be told, I always joked in college w/my other friends who didn't have boyfriends Feb 14th that we were celebrating the massacre, and everyone got a kick out of it. Especially my "fed up with men" friends. lol! One year my roommates and I had a contest to see who would get the most Valentine cards *rolls eyes*. There was a point system. Something like 1 point if from family, 2 if from a friend, 3 if from a guy, etc. Well, I wasn't seeing anyone, and as a joke I sent myself a card and got -500 points for that! It was funny though... A card telling myself how great I am! :P So, needless to say, I lost the contest by a LOT!
I'm really not anti-V-Day. Today I'm finishing a HUGE basket of home made chocolates... filled w/peanut butter, Bailey's Irish Cream, raspberry, plain mint ones, choc. lolly pops w/frosting, mint covered spoons to dip in coffee... etc. Sappy I know. Mostly because I know Mr. H. will love it, and PARTLY because I am sick of him seeing that cheesy Chocolate Factory commercial, which consists of nothing but a double boiler and some molds and saying "We should get that!" He's half joking, but this will show him we don't need no steenkin' Chocolate Factory!!!
It's a crappy rainy day here... woohoo. Since they did our entire front panel of windows last week, we have a blanket covering the windows until our blinds get here, which will be 3 weeks or so. Oh how glamorous that looks. I don't want to look outside anyway. I have to prime part of the wood, and paint the frames, etc. But not until my surgery area is better. I pulled something when I was pounding nails last week. The windows and doors do look great, I must say!!
It looks like our kitchen ceiling MAY have to be ripped out and replaced. >-( I'll find out soon enough. And yet another chapter in the saga of the MONEY PIT. Saturday evening we found water coming up the drain pipes in the basement. A LOT of water. This has nothing to do with the waterproofing that was done last summer. Apparently this is usually caused by a big tree root cracking thru or clogging the pipe to the sewer. So until Roto Rooter can get here (I'm calling them AGAIN as soon as I get off of here), we can't use much water or it all comes up in the basement. I sure hope these pipes aren't clogged with cat toys, because the boys can open one of the drain covers and shove their toy mice in there. If it is, I swear I'll put them out in the rain!!! I'd LOVE to go ONE WEEK without some home crisis! AS John Lydon says "Anger is an Energy"!

~Philosophy in a Tea Cup~
Greetings and Salutations!
First thing A BIG HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO SCORPY ON HER PREGNANCY! :-) That's FAB!! Now they can name their baby HYPE! Sound good? Sounds good to me!!
Let's see... What's new? This week the window and door dudes are coming to replace some windows and all the doors. One window replacement is nearly like knocking out a wall. We've had to move everything all over the house so it's out of the way for them. It will take them two days... In February. We shore picked a good time of year for this! :P
Mr.H. is gone for a couple days for work so my mom is here (I don't know for how long). I've been illin', as usual. I go back for a boatload of bloodwork results on Friday. On the plus side, my Drs. have cut back some of my medication so maybe I can stay awake, since it turns out I will have one month to do my entire semester (well 2/3) of class and that class runs into the next one. Perhaps I should use my squishy macrophage to relieve some stress. It's pretty cool, and you're supposed to squish it to relieve stress... I bet Flem is jealous of my squishy macrophage and my squishy brain! :P
Also on the plus side, I saw my allergist last week and had all the testing done, and after 20 years of smoking I have amazing lungs. He said they were far superior to the majority of those who never smoked. He said my lungs must just be resistant to the damage! :D Lucky me! So, I'm all proud of my lungs. I wonder if having huge lung capacity has anything to do with the fact that I talk so much and rather loudly? Hmmmm...
It seems all I ever have to talk about is health problems, but unfortunately at this point, that's about all my life is... Sorry about the tediousness of it all.
Today's the Stupid Bowl. I doubt I'll watch. It's supposed to be a blowout from what I've heard. I suppose between commercials of whatever I'm watching, I'll check it out. On the other hand, I bet Byrdy will be glued to her TV! :P I'll try to get to everyone's blogs sometime today or tomorrow...

~Cynical Pink~
The weather here sucks... Cloudy, warm enough to rain or sleet... just ugly. I got the Ice Festival pics Flem sent. Gorgeous! I'd love to have seen them live!! Not a lot new here. I've just been recovering and going to a billion Dr. Appts. >-( Today since I have to fast and my appt. is in the afternoon (in GB), and they don't know what blood tests my Dr. will order, I have to go in for a Rainbow Draw. That's where they take blood for every test possible so it's there for later. (It's called rainbow because the different tests are in different tubes with different colored lids.) Oh boy. Drain me dry. It sounds a lot like leeches. lol!
While I've been recuperating, I've been watching the National Geographic Channel, History Channel, and Discovery. LOADS of tsunami and earthquake shows. That's one of my big interests, so I was pretty happy. Of course, I switch to Cartoon Network when my fav shows are on there! I'm an addict! I watch the same old Grim episodes over and over! And still enjoy them. I'm really liking Ozzy and Drix as well...
Needless to say, I have 1 1/2 months to do my class which I haven't started yet! I'll end up cramming 2/3 of a semester into less than a month. I still have to go to the site to figure out how I'm supposed to take the exams online. Weird. I have to get my pre-assignment for my next class done prior to finishing this one. I haven't gotten the book or anything. Discombobulated. <--Word of the day.
A fun SITE! It really is! Check it out!!! I think I'll go play on it later.
Other than that, our windows and doors are being put in next week! Nice choice of time to do it... the middle of January. I still have to go out and get dead bolts for both doors that match the new handles. It will be at least $120 for the dead bolts. The only thing is that we will have no blinds for a while.
The bastard realtor who sold us this house called last night to see if we got his calendar, (which we threw out... I ought to voodoo ritual that dude. He's a real ass.), and to ask us how we liked the house (!?) I told him what a ridiculous money pit it was and how angry we were. He said he was sorry about that and that he had no idea. MMM HMMM... That MF KNEW of these problems and hid them. Asshole. I want him to give us $30 grand to cover some of the work!!!! >-( Then I won't hate him AS much.
This is a boring as hell post... So I'll stop. My prior post was just another Quizilla procrastinating thang. I'll probably revise this...
